The China Thread

@Caduceus so did you ask any of the 2m Taiwanese in Shanghai as part of your research? View attachment 27298

You keep making claims of things I never said.

I have never claimed there are no Taiwanese living in mainland China, nor have I ever talked about Chinese sanctions as you mentioned in a previous post. Instead of responding directly to my observations, you seem to prefer to always pivot to another argument, to avoid the questions I bring up. This is unfortunate because you are an interesting member here with boots on the ground first hand knowledge of the situation, but it also seems you are limited in making even the tiniest criticisms of mainland China at all, as your online content (including posts on this forum) is possibly being monitored (VPN notwithstanding).

On a general basis, I really used to like mainland China and visited a number of different times from 2000 to 2019, but the radical changes to society that they have made since the year 2020 made me (and thousands of other tourists and businessmen) stop going there since then.

It's impossible to keep up with all the buildings, bridges and tunnels exploding and collapsing in China but every now and then it serves a purpose to put out a visual reminder that structures and China is still not a good combination.

Somewhere in China a big bridge collapsed whilst under construction. This doesn't even hit the surface because China and deep down we all kinda expect it. Literally happens several times a week. Yet imagine this being Kentucky though, Lil Coop and the Gang would be talking about it for months on end and tie it into some imaginary macro-economic and geopolitical shifts. 'This is proof of..', you know the drill. That true-believer rigidity just makes hilarious.

If you had ever actually visited the USA, you would know that these kind of things not only happen here, it is becoming much more frequent due to third world immigration. You really should visit the USA one day, you would realize why you are not supported with your talking points on here very often, because we actually live here. And no need for personal attacks, you can make your point without getting emotional.

Seems like China knowns how much more powerful it is getting and at the same time truly realizing they cannot trust the west to be honest. So, they are starting to flex and crack down, as they no longer have any real need for businessmen from the west, or at least not as desperate to have them visit. Also, can they trust westerners to not sabotage their way of living, being they are now in a cold war with us?

All valid points.

However China has imposed a lot of the same restrictions they put on on tourists and foreign businessmen, also on their own people, which shows this isn't just about protecting the country from external threats. If the local Chinese were exempt then I could accept this line of thinking more. Russia seems to do a much better job of limiting foreign influence and meddling without severely limiting their own people's freedom. The covid period from 2020 to 2022 is an excellent example of this.

Yes, hard to say. At the end of the day, who is winning? The disgusting satanic west, which is just a horrible place to live and raise a family, or China? I would say China is dunking all over the west. No, they are not perfect. I am White, I don't agree with their way of living. But my people seem to be okay with going extinct, so I have to give the Chinese credit, they are kicking our asses, so, well, good for them.

The reason China is doing better than Russia economically is because they work much longer hours, at much lower wages, and are able to sell to a lot more clients. However, given the choice between the 2 places, I would prefer living in Russia.

I'm not even comparing them to Russia, I am comparing China to the disgusting west. China and Russia are on the same team, at least for now, so they can work together to build safe/nice countries for their people, while all of us in the west see our countries become violent third world hellholes run by satanic pedophiles.
