The China Thread

Two Chinese tied to the CCP have been charged with smuggling destructive fungi into the US. Potential damages from this agro terrorism could have been billions of USD. Fungi were hidden in clothes, and the apprehended man made various false statements upon arrest. He eventually claimed the fungi were meant for his partner who is a researcher at Michigan University.

FBI director Kash Patel labeled the smuggling operation agro-terrorism and named the CCP as the culprit, stating that 'This case is a sobering reminder that the CCP is working around the clock to deploy operatives and researchers to infiltrate American institutions and target our food supply, which would have grave consequences... putting American lives and our economy at serious risk.'

On June 8 another Chinese scholar connected to the University of Michigan was arrested at Detroit Customs after smuggling pathogens into the US. The scholar is a CCP member, and had previously sent the pathogens to her Chinese contactperson in the US by hiding them in books and plastic cups.

From the post.

Chinese national Chengxuan Han (韩承轩) has been arrested and charged in a criminal complaint with smuggling goods into the US and false statements.

Han is currently pursuing a PhD at the College of Life Science and Technology of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Wuhan. During Sep 2024 - Mar 2025, Han sent four packages to the US from China containing concealed biological material. These packages were addressed to individuals associated with a laboratory at the University of Michigan.

On June 8, Han arrived at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport from Shanghai on a J1 visa. Customs and Border Protection officers conducted an inspection of Han, during which Han made false statements about the packages and the biological materials she had previously shipped to the US. CBP officers also found that the content of Han’s electronic device had been deleted three days prior to her arrival in the US.

Han initially denied sending the packages to members of the UM lab, but when pressed, admitted to shipping them, with the materials from her research lab at the Chinese university.

Han told customs officers the packages were plastic cups, instead of petri dishes, and a book "(omitting the envelope with suspected biological materials concealed in it)".

At the conclusion of the border inspection, Han was interviewed by agents from the FBI and ICE HSI.

She then admitted sending packages containing "nematode growth medium (NGM) (in the petri dishes) and plasmids (in the envelope)”. In the filing, the FBI agent wrote that it was unlikely the petri dishes solely contained NGM, which is used to cultivate nematode worms in lab settings, because it is readily available and inexpensive in the US.

Han also admitted to making false statements to the CBP officers during her inspection

University of Michigan visiting scholar Han Chengxuan (韩承轩) is a very dedicated CCP member — she’s the party secretary of the 2nd Party Branch for Biological Sciences graduates at Huazhong University of Science and Technology and has been named a “红色楷模” (red model).

Another CCP member at University of Michigan

Their entrepreneurs succeed because the Chinese government limits foreign competition inside China allowing these companies to get big enough to then compete internationally. Notice how the biggest companies in China are just copies of Western companies.

If the Chinese consumers had unrestricted google access from day one they wouldn't have bothered with their own search engine. All the biggest companies in China are just a Chinese copy of a foreign product. American companies like Research in Motion (Blackberry) and Apple pioneered the smart phone category. China later came out with copycat products (Huawei, etc). American companies such as Yahoo and Google pioneered search engines and then the Chinese copied it with Baidu. USA pioneered electric cars (e.g. Tesla) then China copied them (BYD). USA came out with the innovative idea of Amazon and China copied it with Ali Baba and Temu. America came out with Open AI and Grok, etc and China copied it with DeepSeek. The list goes on and on.

Can you name some major product categories or new innovate products actually invented by the Chinese?

At least the Japanese have some level of genuine innovation and creativity e.g. Super Mario Brothers, Pokemon, Manga, Anime, cameras (Canon, Nikkon, etc).

There is nothing particularly "innovative" about online companies like Amazon, FB or Google, those are natural monopolies in their respective spaces who were more cutthroat and got near unlimited funding in the 90s, a lot more than their competition. Products like Altavista were technically superior to Google, Google won the search monopoly by having deeper pockets and projecting a false image as a culturally benign organisation (their long defunct motto was "do no evil", lol). The model across the industry was market leaders in each niche running losses year after year but building up critical mass that eventually became monopolies.

Chinese apps like WeChat and AliPay are more advanced in fintech and have integrated a broader range of services into one platform. China already is the world leader in intellectual property:

and is also leading in most cutting edge technologies. You cannot copy your way into technical leadership.

This post expands on my statement above about the concept of creativity being incompatible with or independent from a solid basis of knowledge:

I call bull**** on this, this whole premise is retarded lowbrow propaganda.

There are more than 10 million containers shipped from China to the US every year, literally many thousands importers from China in the US, yet those evil Chinese commies' plan to poison America with deadly shrooms, held in tiny packages, consists of having those alleged pathogens smuggled by Chinese scientists, who are almost guaranteed to get the full on TSA/Homeland treatment upon arrival, in little plastic bags in their own checked-in luggage??

Are you kidding me?

Just because they have the most patents doesn't mean anything. You can make a patent out of anything. It just means they take an existing idea and modify it slightly and that is a new patent.

And again Altavista was a an American company so mentioning that still doesn't help your argument. Even of you predate Facebook Myspace was again an American company. Snapchat was American and so was Whatsapp, etc. The only thing China came up with in this space that was innovative was Tik Tok. The west came out with Uber and Lyft and China copied them with Didi, etc. Airbnb was American then China copied it with Tujia.

Name one major breakthrough that China made where they invented a new product catgeory/concept, etc. All the top 10 cryptocurrencies were made by westerners. All the major famous drug breakthroughs (Ozempic, etc) are made by western companies. China doesn't have any rockets that compare to Space X rockets which can launch and then return to the launchpad, etc.

And your example of Wechat again is nothing to do with innovation they just bundled a bunch of existing technologies into one platform which is harder for western companies to do because of American and European anti-trust regulations. It has nothing to do with innovation capability or technical ability.

If you go back deep into Chinese ancient history yes at some point in time they had a lot of innovation they invented gunpowder, fiat currency, paper, etc. But China lost its creativity a long time ago because it was strangled by communism.

If you deal with non-westernised Chinese they barely seem to have any personality and seem like robots.

Internet innovation started in the 1990s, when China was still a backwards country with a small CS community and a GDP comparable to the Netherlands'.

China has made breakthroughs in the medical treatment of cancer and diabetes.

In terms of rocketry, China is already flying 6th gen fighter jets, and is one of only 2 countries with gliding hypersonic missiles (along with Russia).

Sure those Chinese drugs sound promising as do many drugs initially but lets see if they actually get to market. Besides if the Chinese academic system is so great than why are Chinese students going to study at universities in western countries in droves but you see very few westerners studying in Chinese universities. Just look at Harvard or MIT etc they are full of Chinese students.

And those Chinese fighter jets and hyper-sonic missiles are just copying ones made by the USA and Europe. Not much innovation there. And Deepseek was not innovation. Yes its cheap but its inferior to Grok and other AIs in terms of performance and came out after there were already a lot of AI software in the marketplace.

Their drugs are already on the market, as mentioned in the video above.

The Chinese university system has only closed the gap relatively recently. The students that go abroad today are those from wealthy backgrounds that don't get in the top schools in China. The number of Chinese students in the US today is 277k, down from 372k in 2019, over 80% of Chinese graduates from the US return home.

Sorry but this is kind of a dumb argument. The US and Europe don't have 6th gen fighter jets, or hypersonic missiles like the DF-17, you're basically accusing the Chinese of copying products that don't even exist in the West!

As to Deepseek, you are clearly out of your element here. It was a major step forward for the industry, causing a massive shift in the hardware industry and single-handedly disrupting the OpenAI Altman et al top down trillion dollar scheme.

The irony here is that you're in Australia, a market that is relatively open to Chinese auto imports, so you should have had first hand experience with their level of innovation and quality.

Chinese cars aren't that big here. BYD is the only Chinese car company in Australia posting decent numbers the rest are all minuscule. Japanese cars are the most popular in Australia. Chinese car sales here are way down the list behind Japanese, American, German, and Korean cars.

Deepseek is overrated. Its a decent AI that was cheap to produce but on a lot of important metrics its performance is a lot lower than Grok, Chat GPT, etc.

They copy and they should. I'm going to assume some things they come up with on their own. There's plenty of them working for western firms in R&D. This gaokao thing reflects pretty well on them as well.

I don't even understand this "copy" argument. Imagine being so retarded you don't copy, like the Africans. Imagine thinking Americans don't reverse engineer anything because they "respect" the innovative spirit too much, lol.

I like fairness, originality and quality just like any other person but their is huge level of complicity on our part. To say the Chinese are engaging in some kind of conspiracy to bankrupt and reduce the quality of life of white people with dogshit copycat products is a little much. Not too say it hasn't crossed their mind, I'm sure they can see the "patriotism" of these middlemen and import/export "specialists" flying in.

If some white people care so deeply about people getting recognition for the patents then maybe they shouldn't sell their products to the third world. Problem solved. They already do it with things that matter, might as well do it for everything, so it's fair because fairness is the pillar of capitalism lol.

Some important perspective on this arrest: the material this prof was carrying was in no way dangerous. LaNegra's article is misleadingly omitting this main aspect of that incident.

'NOT DANGEROUS'
Evidence suggests she was arrested on a technicality, as no source indicates there was any danger involved.“It doesn’t strike me as something that is dangerous in any way. But there are rules to ship biological material,” biologist Michael Shapira told the Associated Press.
The US has, for years, arrested, detained, sacked, or prosecuted scientists on technical grounds—if they are ethnically Chinese. In this case, the scientist, an advanced degree scholar from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, was transporting organic material from worms. She is being held in custody, the authorities said.

Also, it turns out that one of the two Chinese scientists in the first incident above was sent back to China. This confirms my statement above, If this were indeed some kind of a sordid plan to contaminate the US through a bioweapon, he would certainly have been been charged with terrorism and thrown in a high-security jail for decades at the very least.

Lil Coop's wumao fanaticism is so extreme that he is now denying observable reality aka the fact that all three suspects have confessed to smuggling dangerous pathogens into the US.

This is turning into tranny tier delusion, literally trying to bend his mind into a pretzel to somehow protect the faltering China a peaceloving force of good that just wants to coexist from total implosion. Twilight zone stuff.

Remarkable flip-flop. Yesterday the entire story was 'lowbrow propaganda' and Lil Coop, chowing his infinite loyalty to Party and Chairman, had to 'call BS' from his armchair. Today however it's a complete 180 degree turn because according to the latest copetake the story is actually true, but with the addendum that the pathogens are totally harmless and it's all just a misunderstanding.

Sorry Coop, head of the FBI Kash Patel doesn't agree with you. Agro-terrorism it is. In addition the CCP is running a wide variety of well documented operations in the US, ranging from industrial scale espionage, IP theft, purposely flooding the US with lethal drugs, buying US real estate near sensitive military locations, bribing US officials/ academics/ businessmen through lobbyism, fiddling with supply chains, jeopardizing critical infrastructure through a wide variety of means, seeding the US with CCP operatives and of course running elaborate propaganda narratives solely designed for the US public.

All with with the ulterior aim of degrading, destabilizing and demoralizing the US from within. Bio-warfare fits perfectly well in the picture.

Big news from Israel where the Chinese are quietly expanding their port facilities in Haifa. US intel has since long admitted that the SIPG owned Haifa port has Chinese spyware and endangers US operations in the region. US Senate in 2019 warned against letting the Chinese take over the port. It's been a strong rumour for long that Bibi is playing a double game and the Israelis been vital in building up China's manufacturing/ military/ technology sector+ critical infrastructure through high level espionage in the US. Trump taking control over Gaza might be a play to counter this.

Update from Haifa where the March 2025 deal is coming into effect, the Chinese State owned SIPG has signed a new lease deal and will double its capacity in Haifa Bayport. The initial lease deal was inked in 2015, and at that time SIPG's Haifa containerport was the first Chinese operated SMART port facility abroad. Israel is part of the Belt and Road Initiative and as such Haifa port is too. China is the largest exporter to Israel (19bn USD), and Haifa port is one of the reasons for that. Construction will begin soon.

In addition to that China has greenlit another 4000 foreign workers for Israel. Chinese construction companies and workers have been present in Israel for decades, but due to the Israeli security situation and political decision to limit Palestinian labour in the fields and farms of the West Bank and Israel proper, Israel is now somewhat dealing with a labour shortage which will be met by importing foreign labor. Fortunately the Chinese have stepped up by sending 4000 of their people , and ironically many of these Chinese are employed building illegal settlements on the WB.

Patel is the same guy who claims with a straight face that Epstein killed himself and he saw the video of that with his own googly eyes. He should be in charge of a Jersey motel like all his cousins, not the FBI.

This is a prime example of China fear porn from outlets like Fox, NTD, Bannon, etc.

Some basic facts from reliable sources about these biological materials:

-The fungi that the first couple brought in with their luggage are not some kind of CCP designer bioweapon, it is a common toxic fungus that is widespread in the US, the government is willfully spreading fear porn, priming the lower IQ populace for military escalation against China, same way they've primed the masses for war against Iraq with stories of yellowcake, anthrax etc.

Here's a reliable, competent and independent source on this, the Asahi Shimbun from Japan, an outlet that is actually not particularly sympathetic towards China, but one with above room temperature IQ reporters:

Prosecutors described the fungus as a dangerous biological pathogen that had the potential to be used as an agricultural terrorism weapon. The fungus is already widespread on U.S. farms, tested for and tightly controlled in grains, and is not considered dangerous unless consumed in large quantities.
Clair Keene, an agronomist at North Dakota State University, said she was puzzled by U.S. authorities’ description of the fungus.
“It’s a common pathogen. We have it here. The claim that Fusarium graminearum can be used as a biological weapon doesn’t strike me as accurate,” she said.

So yeah, I call bull**** on this whole story.

Not only is the whole bioweapon story blown up, but also - two Chinese biological scientists flying into the US, bringing in "bioweapons", in small clear plastic bags in their checked-in luggage?!? Seriously, LaNegra? what kind of Mickey Mouse operation is the CCP running?

This is wooden-gas-chamber-door-that-opens-from-the-inside level dumb.

You know what's even worse than this though? The chaser story about the third Chinese scientist and her little dish of worms. Here's what a serious source has to say about her contents:

'NOT DANGEROUS'
Evidence suggests she was arrested on a technicality, as no source indicates there was any danger involved.
It doesn't strike me as something that is dangerous in any way. But there are rules to ship biological material,” said Michael Shapira, a biologist at the University of California, Berkeley, who read the court filing and spoke to The Associated Press.

Hypocrisy at large indeed. The Convid lunacy tought me a lot about my 'own' people, things that I assumed were traits of other people's we always make fun of / criticize were dangerously extreme with the ones we call 'civilized'.

I know that a lot of Japanese car manufacturers lost billions and billions in R&D in building factories in China but then again the Japanese copied the Europeans before that.

That is undoubtedly true that China does everything you just mentioned but every major country uses its intelligence services to do this type of stuff to other countries. How many colour revolutions has the CIA funded? How many cartels in foreign countries has the CIA supported? How much spying has the USA done? What about attackes on foreign infrastructure like the Nordstream pipeline? How much propaganda did the USA spread the USAID in foreign countries?

China does this sort of stuff, Russia does it, USA does it, Israel does it, etc. Its pretty standard.
