Stock Market Thread

A good video on the AI Bubble. I am glad I am not the only one who looks at Sam Altman and says "that guy is a total scam artist".

Michael Burry, the one who had predicted 2008 crash (the one they made Big Short movie about) has recently opened a short on Nvdia and predicts AI bubble burst. In his analysis it's mosty about accounting manipulations that have to do with chips becoming obsolete in real life versus on the books, this affects how earnings are calculated.

On the other hand, there is an opinion the Fed is expecting to keep cutting rates propping the stick market up, despite increasing inflation, because their unspoken bet is on increase in productivity due to AI. Good luck with that, any increases in "productivity" in their exponential growth scam that they call "economy" will be accompanied by similar increases in unemployment. May be that's what they are betting on, actually, on the short run, highwer unemployment (which they will lie about, as usual, all the part time minimum wage survival is counted as "employment") dampening the inflation.

I watch Bloomberg TV all day long. The levels of disconnect between the Financial Elites and the rest of us is absolutely astonishing. Great post.

He is using a paradigm that doesn't work to evaluate what is going on. It's over a decade plus old, and we've never been in this scenario before, where everyone is using fiat and the dominant force has many tricks to keep things liquid such that deflation will not happen like the "great depression". Will that continue to crush and eventually annihilate the middle class? Yes. It won't last, but it'll last way longer than his current 0-fer run, much like Peter Schiff's embarrassing run. I could mention at least 5-10 other names right now in that "crash" & doom-click cycle but won't.

They hope, but they won't get it in the timeline that matters regarding anything remotely similar to make things what they were even like in the USA in the 2000s. We're staring at a total regression to the mean of the USA to the standard human civilization and nation state reality: small numbers of elites and mostly sustenance people. The scam is just to default on the debt via inflation of course. How they "fix" the state pensions and health care issues that are coming will be funny. SSA can actually be a little more solvent or drawn out.

In 5-8 years the current top 10% of people will morph into a similar situation where only 5% have that equivalent wealth and standard of living. I think that trajectory has been 5% per decade since 2000.

@Australia Sucks thank you for your contributions to this thread and other financial topics.

You seem to have a lot of interest, knowledge, and experience with financial management, investing, and trading. Likewise if you've been successful financially, I think dropping a practical data sheet would be a great way to give back to the small community here. I'm sure many other members would also appreciate this.

Would you consider writing a data sheet on the topic of trading and investing?

Along with this thread, there are a couple of related threads (like the popular BTC thread; https://christisking.cc/threads/precious-metals.26; and:https://christisking.cc/threads/how-are-your-assets-diversified-whats-the-best-ratios.1112) - with lots of information shared - albeit without a centralised structure or practical guides.

A few ideas to help stimulate some potential areas to write about, depending on your areas of specialisation and interest:

I'm thinking about a how-to guide across various types of:
- small to large cap stocks, hard/soft commodities, precious/industrial metals, foreign currencies;
- short, medium, and longer-term timelines; from day trading to set-and-forget investing for retirement;
- mechanisms of CFDs, Futures/Options, EFTs;
- technical chart analysis, fundamental analysis, market sentiment.
- platforms, websites, AI-supported tools; etc.

Perhaps you could also chuck in:
- recommendations of resources for broader learning and knowledge, to help people understand what approaches to choose, how to self-teach etc.

On a personal note:
- Along with the handful of other Aussies here, I would be grateful if you could share Australian-specific info such as stocks/companies, trading platforms, brokers, etc that you would recommend.
- I've increased my risk appetite and want to diversify my plays, so both shorter-term trading and expanding into a wider range of longer-term investment classes are of particular interest.

Thanks for your consideration.

Always enjoy AS' contributions to the investment threads. Hopefully the ASX is beginning the slow climb out of the red again. Looking a lot better today than yesterday.

Rather than being a knee jerk Dent hater listen to the interview and post the pros and in your case the cons of what is shared there to discuss.

I could list a dozen reputable Analysts and Investors that basically say the current Bull Markets are driven by the 10 largest Market Cap firms indicating a classic Austrian School Crack Up Boom Bubble leading to a 1929 to 1932 type "Correction" for a full Fibonacci 89%.

Then there is Charles Nenner Research forecasting massive rioting and unrest in the USA and EU followed by a multiple Mushroom Clouds War Cycle which is why I have also stacked Silver and some Gold Coins and quite a bit of lead & brass and 2A tools.

Harry Dent was wrong again. Let’s see if my prediction of a 2026 global financial crises (as per the 18.6 year land cycle theory) pans out. Lots of land economists (Phil Anderson, Fred Harrison, Fred Folvary etc have predicted the 2026 peak years in advance we will see how that prediction pans out. I still hold assets (mostly BTC and precious metals) but I’m completely debt free with minimal non-discretionary monthly expenditure so I can ride out any downturn without being overly stressed even if my assets take a temporary hit in price.
