Hah. Was Trump taking credit for the peace process when it was ASEAN Lead / Malaysian Anwar that facilitated this? I don't see the US Ambassador included in the announcement video and within the peace process discussion format, the US Ambassador is in the corner opposite of China attached.

Here is the opinion piece from China warning against Western-Media framing this war as a proxy war narrative. As I mentioned, doubt China would take a side given there are significant BRI investments in both countries (i.e. BYD Factory in Thailand and BRI infrastructure projects in Cambodia) and none of these conflicts are 'worker'-led. Both countries are held together by each a powerful family.

The US narrative here is that Trump was pausing the ongoing trade talks until a ceasefire was reached and this supposedly brought both parties to the table.

I think the potential punishments are overkill. He is just a prankster. 2 or 3 years community service would be punishment enough (of course if he re-offended after that then harsher punishments could be considered).
I think deportation would’ve been a more appropriate punishment. “You lost Philippines privileges for life.” They really are throwing the book at him.

One of the charges against him is attempting to take an officers firearm. If true he's going to get some very hard time. What on earth was he thinking?
Oh that changes quite a bit, yeah third world countries don’t play. They don’t have the St George effect running in the background.

Vitaly will walk. There was already talk about deportation a couple months back but that didn't fly because neither the US nor Russia wanted him. Now it seems there aren't any charges pressed, which means there is no case.
