Peak Fertility For Women and Men

Which is done when a man donates his seed, and he does that by pleasuring himself and releasing his seed into a container.

A different option is that: "Sperm may be collected at home by means of a condom during intercourse and brought to the clinical setting where it is introduced into the wife’s uterus." Still seems weird to me lol...

Many medical procedures would be considered sinful in normal circumstances but acceptable in medical circumstances.

This is what it means to have mercy.

The problem with IVF is that it encourages women to marry old and have children at an old age. Which is unhealthy for the children but also bad for the man and society at large. The church should be completely against IVF as the majority of IVF is occurring due to the woman being old and in the rare cases its not perhaps that family can adopt children or the man can impregnate another woman with the man's wife becoming the adopted mother. We should look to how societies in ancient times dealt with barren women. The options were usually either divorce, adoption or the husband impregnating another woman.

Totally agree with you that the mere presence of IVF is both spiritually and culturally toxic. It gives women a false sense of security and imperviousness which leads to bad behavior, especially considering that IVF is far from bullet proof.

I disagree that just because a good faithful woman is barren, she should be punished, however.

I agree. However, there is a limit to what is justifiable... Even in medical circumstances, there is line that shouldn't be crossed. We absolutely should give our brothers and sisters in Christ grace and mercy in these situations. We all fall short of the Glory of God in our own way (whatever it is) but that doesn't mean that the Church should alter it's teachings because of a fallen world.

I agree here, also. IVF is absolutely marketed to career type women: "freeze your eggs for later"; "be a mom when you want to be"; "pursue your career"; "have your cake and eat it too," etc etc etc... All satanic lies. Satan can use the tools of this world also.

But, I have to say, for the hypothetical 45 yo woman who has tried and tried... even very fertile women rarely conceive at 45. I mean, she's getting to the age of a grandmother... There's a reason menopause starts around the age where their first offspring should be starting their own families. (Ex. 50 yo mom/25 yo daughter)

I think we can agree that 95-99% of IVF shouldn't be used. There's a few edge cases where things can get dicey but honestly, in such situations there are hundreds of variables to consider and it's not worth fretting over.
