Acclaimed actor, director, and producer Mel Gibson arrived at the Serbian #Hilandar Monastery shortly before #Vidovdan (a Serbian holiday commemorating the Battle of Kosovo in 1389) where he spent the holiday with the monastic brotherhood. Gibson participated in the vigil and the festive meal, and the monastery's brotherhood revealed the reason for his visit. He visited Hilandar to pray and seek spiritual inspiration before the filming of his new movie "Resurrection," which is scheduled to begin in September. Gibson's film "The Passion of the Christ," which depicted events from the life of Jesus Christ leading up to the crucifixion, had a significant impact on the entire Christian world and beyond. The upcoming film "Resurrection" will focus on events that occurred after the Son of God rose from the dead, as noted on the Hilandar Foundation's webpage. "Over the years, Mel Gibson has spoken publicly about his religiosity and Christianity. He has expressed a deep belief in the historicity of biblical events, which has motivated him to bring them to the screen," the Hilandar Monastery Foundation added in its announcement.
