I think you're largely right about senior military leadership being stuck in the past technologically.
However, I think highly accurate ballistic and hypersonic missiles will be a threat even from third world countries. I think it is prudent to develop next gen anti-missile technologies.

Not gonna argue about the importance of an anti-ballistic shield, but we need to be more realistic about the nature of the threats we are facing today and prioritize. Because while we're busy working on space based interceptors to protect us from attacks that may never happen (becuase it would trigger a nuclear response), our critical infastructure and strategic assets are unprotected from attacks that almost anyone, even non-state actors, can launch with ease.

They left Russia, probably are in western Ukraine now, laying low. Still they will be hunted by the FSB, their life expectancy is not very high.
I'm baffled as to why they put their faces and names out there like that. In all other coverage I see from the pro Ukrainian side, faces of their troops and agents are always blurred. These two are probably walking dead now, but I can't see who benefits from it. I guess maybe the journalists themselves?

So sick of seeing Disney, Marvel and Star Wars everywhere. The stuff is for children and lacks any weight of seriousness to it, especially when it comes to something like a real-life war where people are dying.

Lol, reminds me of a Reddit post I saw early on in the Ukraine war where someone was saying "Guys guys, Ukraine is Hogwarts, Zelensky is Dumbledore, and Russia is Voldemort!! We have to defeat Voldemort!!"
Really sums up the childish American mentality.
And it worked. It turned liberal urbanites - the most pussyfied demographic - into pro-war zealots. All it took was some disney/marvel slop and people who grew up protesting war on terror, are now supporting increased military spending, NATO expansion, even straight-up military intervention leading to WW3.

If Putin has let him stay alive for 3 years, then there must be a good reason for that.
Taking out the leader of an opposing military force would not necessarily be a sin.
But also, Zelensky is not a particularly easy man to kill. I imagine he has taken enormous precautions in that regard.

According to former Israeli PM Bennett, Z was pretty scared of being taken out 2 years ago, even trying to use him as a go-between to Putin. Somehow he got over it, maybe he figured that Putin was not after him
