Biden-era Options Trump Will Likely Exercise vs. Russia in Ukraine

Biden admin was considering arming Ukraine with a number of JASSM air-launched cruise missiles using F-16s already deployed to Ukraine;

Baseline JASSMs would fall just short of reaching Moscow, while extended range variants could actually hit the Russian capital;

The decision was already made during the Biden admin in 2024, but would need months to implement - meaning it would have to be "announced" during the Trump administration;

It's still not certain what the Trump admin will announce this Monday, but this is a very likely escalation that will take place, if not this week, inevitably;

Other weapons that could be sent are more of the same - ATACMS, glide bombs, artillery shells, anti-tank weapons, along with German long-range weapons sent under the guise of "German financed, Ukrainian-made" missiles;

As per continuity of agenda, the US plans to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian, sending whatever can be spared, escalating gradually throughout the conflict, while compelling Europe to pursue self-destructive over-spending and involvement in the US proxy war - Trump becoming president has clearly changed none of this;

Think tanks (Project 2025, Marathon Institute, America First Institute) laying out "Trump" policy before he even contested 2024 elections, sought continued confrontation with Russia, Iran, and China through a combination of "division of labor" and "strategic sequencing," which the exact same policy pursued under the Obama-Biden administrations;
This recent Axios report: axios.com/2025/07/14/tru…
...claims:
"two sources told Axios they had reason to believe the plan was likely to include long-range missiles that could reach targets deep inside Russian territory, including Moscow. However, neither was aware of any final decision..."
There are only a few weapons the US could transfer to Ukraine that fit this description, the JASSM-ER air-launched cruise missile is one of them.
Preparations were likely being made since under Biden meaning they're ready and simply need to be "announced" by Trump.
If JASSMs aren't announced this Monday, they and other missiles like Germany's Taurus are almost certainly going to be sent eventually.
The objective was always to fight to the last Ukrainian, escalating as much as possible along the way, raising the cost, and extending Russia as much as possible.
Deploying JASSMs - including extended range variants - would provide valuable data required to eventually arm the Philippines, Taiwan, and other proxies to use them against China in the Asia-Pacific.
