Brother....weren't you saying before how you were having trouble meeting people? Go out and enjoy yourself, yea it's totally amateur night tonight but why not have some fun?
Just leaving my friends party heading to the family party, hope your new year is blessed brothers!
Spotted the New Year's Grinch! Just kidding, I do get it. As a morning person, I'm a firm believer in setting the stage for the new year by waking up super early, catching a sunrise, and reflecting on the last year. It sets a good tone for the coming year. After all, on the first day of the year, the year is 0% over.
With that said, tonight's an exception for me. Gonna meet up with an old friend and greet the midnight hour this 2025!
Hope you all set the tone for your next year of life in whatever way you want and achieve all your dreams!
I updated my graphics card driver today. Hoping it solves an issue where my computer is crashing into a green screen when my daughter plays Roblox.
I have a ton of work that needs to get done this week so I might as well be working on this tonight instead of going to a bar by myself hoping to "meet people. (like that's going to happen)

I got invited to an event at a church. It will be nice to be in a social environment without partying or alcohol.
I would have been too nervous to go to someone like this a few years ago, but with age comes confidence and embracing awkard moments.

Bars are a bad place to meet people, especially women
Staying in with the missus. Going outside to wave and shout greetings to the neighbors, which is becoming a tradition. Being grateful for where the family is at.

I kinda dislike new years eve at least in the terms that people tend to celebrate here (i.e: making drink the focal point), but I had a pretty relaxed evening with my family.

Watched “double impact” movie with kids. My wife made some special food (tiger prawns, lobster, etc). Watched the firework and went to bed. Wanted to try out a special champagne but my liver cant take more alcohol. Its sad. Years of abuse. Have taken a toll.
Today we normally eat out at a restaurant. Nothing fancy. We walk around with the city half empty. And find some local open joint to eat.

My brothers, It's great to see the joy and goodwill flowing through this thread.
Right on. I was in bed early and thankfully slept through the local shenanigans. My first memories of 2025 were my children making noise at 6am, giggling with my wife's encouragement, and saying "Dada!" This ritual may commence much earlier than I would like, but it is unquestionably an improvement to the things I'd woken up to in previous years.
Welcome to making it to another year after Christ was born. The people of the world may not know it, but they live by the life of Christ.
Now, I feel that 2025 will be the year
The year to exercise better
The year to sleep better
The year to pray better
Finally. Been waiting a year to drop that reel.
More sincerely, I want to thank every member of CIK who has offered me encouragement and support over the past year and more. Even if we haven't met, and may never meet in person, I'm grateful for being a part of this small yet special community with you.

It was an "empty nest" New Year's Eve for us, but tempered by the happiness of where the kids are at.
