Every spring when I wander into my asparagus plot in my garden I think the exact same thing. Then I snap off a stock and eat it right there and think what a perfect vegetable. Its almost surreal how fast and plentiful these things grow.

We have a brand of dark Demerara rum in Canada called 'Old Sam', distilled in Guyana, bottled in Newfoundland. It used to have a b&w drawing of an old grinning Negro on the lable but the spoilsports went and removed it.
