He's a liberal who realises communism was a danger and even wrote a book on Critical Race Theory, but as soon as Trump won, claimed the far right was now the real danger and started calling them woke right.
It looks like he's gotten some comeuppance for it.

I'm a contractor to a large Federal agency.
For the past 2 weeks they've been rather quiet about the new administration.
Yesterday during out weekly meeting our PM asked how they were doing?
"Not great," one bureaucrat replied.
"Well it's near the end of the day," PM encouraged.
"Doesn't really matter,".
"Well it's near night," PM continued.
"The night is even scarier," she finally admitted.
I posted earlier how their diversity female PM was asking us how to keep track of meetings - literally her job.
They saw what happened at USAID and finally let it crack that they are scared too.
Thankfully my camera was off so they couldn't see my enormous smile
