Donald Trump: Criticism & Debate Thread

That woman was deported for writing an op-ed critical of Israel in her college newspaper at Tufts. Furthermore, she was targeted and deported at the behest of a zionist group that compiles a blacklist of people who criticize Israel, ICE is effectively acting as this radical zionist group's private Stasi.

The Pro-Israel Group That Led to Rumeysa Ozturk’s ArrestCanary Mission has a history of putting activists on the Trump administration’s radar.

While it is probably a 90% chance her arrest and deportation was indefensible, I would still like to see what her official charges are. She was given a terrorist's arrest, which is really unusual unless they are dangerous. If she really got so forcefully deported simply for an op-ed than that is a huge red flag, however, technically it is legal as she is an alien and not given any real rights.

Are you saying that people who are residing or visiting the US legally don't have any legal rights? That is a pretty wild take. The same laws (and rights) apply to them as to any US citizen, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

They do some some rights. But not the same rights as a citizen.

That is fact.

No citizens don't have the right to vote for instance.

Yes. That's why I said "unless explicitly stated otherwise." Federal voting rights apply specifically to US citizens. Although non-citizens can vote in local elections some places.

But non-citizens certainly have the right to due process of law.

They don't have free speech and due process doesn't apply to aliens under terrorism laws.

Sorry homie don't care.

Yes... Let's defend non citizens who are either liberal disruptors or criminals and treat them exactly like American citizens and Tax payers and tie up more government resources for people who are not citizens.

I certainly didn't spend tax dollars or my military service to extend rights to people who aren't Americans in my country.

Are you an American?

If so, why do you think it's correct for us to provide any safe harbor to any non American who causes any mischief...regardless of if you believe in the merits of their actions/cause/credo.

If you're not then your point is fairly irrelevant.

Habeas corpus is valid for any person. Citizen or alien.
Only congress can suspend habeas corpus.

Patriot act expired under Trump first term. But even terrorists could apply to habeas corpus. Roberts said otherwise but lost at the time.

Peasants had to rebel and die to get habeas corpus and now people are giving it away for nothing.

Aliens cant vote in any election. They are not stakeholders. Why not tourists? I travel to US and vote. Looll. Which imbecile can defend this without being bribed.

Theres a graduation of values. Not all values are the same.

Nature law is very limited. And is above any other law. Theres even constitutional law which can be inconstitucional if hold up to natural law. Otto Bachof wrote a book about this.

Secure the borders instead of using aliens as an excuse to undermine citizens rights.

Lets see if anti semitics are one day deprived of habeas corpus and labelled terrorists.

Historically conservative have always been against intrusions from the government into private life. If you know people who lived under Franco they will say the government didnt care about private lives. Only if you talked about politics. Its communists who think governments should intrude

OK, I understand that it's easy to ignore civil rights violations when it comes to foreign nationals. But you can bet on that they are coming for US citizens that critizise Israel next.
They already have, and the guy who signed the bill was pushed by Trump and just won a seat a few days ago...

And remember, this bill was signed in Israel. Ron DeSantis and Randy Fine traveled to Israel to sign this bill into law.
