The last (and only) time the Danish defended Greenland was almost 300 years ago in 1739, when they fought the Dutch.

That's smart, that would alleviate a lot of issues and you would get some really patriotic citizens overnight.

He has to play it cool so his masters back in Denmark don't sack him, but he surely sees the opportunity if the US pays off the Greenland populace to accept annexation. His dad emigrated from Denmark, but he was born and raised there, so I'm sure he counts as being a citizen of Greenland.
Ha! I just realized that one could imagine a lot of people in Denmark deciding it is time to emigrate to Greenland right now, in hopes of getting US cash! I wonder how they would distinguish the people who get it and the ones who don't. Maybe all the pregnant Danes will go to Greenland to have their babies and try to have them counted as anchor babies to receive any US cash!

Although in this case, Israel might just have a non-position. Denmark is actually on pretty friendly terms with Israel, that is probably one of the reasons Greenland is still in their hands.
