As far as I know there is no retrospective data capture, but that would depend on the integrity of the cell phone carriers and whether or not every message and phone call sent and received within the last several days is stored on standby. If the attacker was using encrypted apps, the device can still capture its metadata even if it cannot decrypt E2EE messages. They'll use anything as a lead.
We are all cattle to be culled or masses to be swayed, depending on the needs of these parasites. Since mass surveillance with probable cause does not exist, they create the "probable cause."
