I think Laura Branigan was already getting up there in years, when she made this hit, so props to her!
Likewise, Toni Basil was 40, when she released Mickey. I remember when this video came out on MTV...we had no idea she was "so old".

Very nice song. It was on Metal Gear 5, which is where I got quite a few 80s songs from. One of her songs also plays on GTA: Vice City.

The orginal version of the "self control" song by Italian singer "Raf" is pretty good too.
He sings it in English as well.
It's a classic of the 80s sub genre called "italo disco"
They played the song in the "Miami Vice" TV show in the 80s, but not sure which version they used.

So this was actually made by a weirdo 'Christian' cult called the Family International/Children of God. River and Joaquin Phoenix and Rose McGowan were supposedly members growing up. The group has been accused of some pretty bad stuff, but the I think message of the video either stands or does not stand on it's own merits, regardless of what the group has been accused of..."even a stopped clock is right twice a day", etc.

Wow! That video has a ton of 80s clips rapid fire. For some reason, that triggered a heavy sense of nostalgia in me, which I don't usually have. The world wasn't insane back then. It's unbelievable how things have turned out.
