70s thread - The best of the 1970s

I heard this for the first time in over 40 years, and I knew the lyrics for the first part and knew that little synth lead followed.

That was horrible! A schmaltzy TV cover of the actual song.

Also, the recording had static in it. I remember how TV had snow in the picture as often as not all the way until HD came along, but I had forgotten the hassle of static in the sound much of the time.
