The cycle continues as they accumulate wealth and power and pass it on to their sons. Why would they want anything to change? Why do they care what the bottom 90% of men get? They are living the good life.

Because the common men, especially the high performing common men, were talking the 60-80% will just stop working. They’ll go and build another society that “gets it.” As we’re speaking, Chinas reforming the family courts cos everyone’s “lying flat” and Russia is cheerleading pro-orthodoxy to fix their own sexual issues. Divorce is illegal in the Philippines. I believe that’s what the student loans are really about. They’re a way to keep something similar from happening in the US.

Imagine that though - the US has basically en-serfed (is that a word?) its male population so women can go have sex and break up families whenever they feel like.

As for the meta-consequences of this. I believe we are in the infancy of this coming to pass. SNAP, section 8, all of it is being cut. Productivity is down and I can tell the pace of life is just slower in the 20s than it was in 10s. It’s definitely slower than the 00s. No men working = no section 8, SNAP, WIC etc.

I think the only thing that’s kept collapse at bay for now is that young men still have some opportunity (albeit rapidly diminishing) to make enough money that if invested wisely can lead them to leave the west and become a passport bro living the good life with a non western woman overseas. I think if the whole going overseas thing gets to a point where it’s not possible then the west will collapse.

I personally know a lot of young and middle aged men working hard so they can one day become passport bros.

Honestly my plan. Get my money into a retirement account elsewhere and get an early retirement visa. It’s also a way to protect your dollars as the dollar declines. When there's a shot (however small a chance), that is something more than America - which is a fait accompli - guys will take it. The thing about China, Russia, and the Philippines is that, unlike the US, most women are still willing to date an average guy there. Even Western Europe isn't as bad as here, aside from the UK. Not to say women in those countries don't have their own problems. But here, a large percentage of young women are so brainwashed they would rather stay single than date a guy below their unrealistic expectations. The US is going to need some serious shock therapy to be fixed.

The big problem is most American men are just very selfish and worldly. They don't hate the system in principle. They just hate that they're not in the top 5%. They would gladly support the system if they were. If there is a revolution against the elites, the mass of men will not be setting up a virtuous, prosperous society. Yes, there will be some Christian groups that want that. A return to Christ is the only way we're going to get out of this mess. But the masses will simply be raping and pillaging, getting what they believe they're owed.

People keep saying this but where is the solution? The men that are hurting are not the ones with the power to change anything. The men with power are not hurting for women. These are the guys in the elite fraternities in college, often tall and well built due to good genetics and nutrition, and with deep social connections. At any of their parties they might have 5 women to pick from for every brother. Or they could be from another social background that is similarly well regarded.

He is right that there will be inevitable societal decay. But so far I only see the elite capitalizing on this. Wealth has concentrated even more in the top 5-10% in the last few years. They aren't suffering yet. If anything is to change before a total collapse the bottom 90-95% will have to force them to adapt.

The men with power will have the incentive to lead when they realize they can get 10x as much by using the disenfranchised men below. Also, they'll see the writing on the wall: there won't be enough for their sons at current pace.

Remember for a long time the incentive given to men to join the army in the ancient world was a chance at owning a women. Concubines weren't outlawed until like 800 AD, in the Byzantine times, which meant between 5000 BC to 800 AD you had 5800 years of promising men ownership of a female for time served. The women captured from enemy towns would be sold to the highest bidders among solders, and she would be his slave (concubine).

I could definitely see this practice returning. This practice also heavily encouraged women to marry, since a married woman would be far less likely to be captured (still not impossible however) by raiders.

That said, by the time we get here, it's very likely that most public services will no longer be functional, so kiss your electricity (and therefore bitcoin) goodbye. Gold will be king.

That is the point it really needs to get to the level of Venezuela or Cuba before women truly start becoming humble. Even when I was in Chile, Mexico, Peru and Colombia all poor countries by western standards women still had a lot of attitude (albeit less than western women but still very high nevertheless) despite the poverty. You really need very extreme poverty before women start becoming humble.

Personally I think the frog in boiling water scenario is more likely where people's living standards just continue their gradual decline so that in 30 years time everybody in western countries will have half the living standard of today which is still considerably better than third world countries.

Trump is the biggest one but all this seems very tied to "reproductive rights" and "the economy".

These women seem to be freaking out about losing access to material comforts in the near future as well as abortions as they get older and it becomes higher risk for them in their late 30s/40s.

Three women told me they're afraid of being a certain kind of poor where they turn 45 but can't afford to do stuff to their face so they can look "decent". They're afraid of their husbands leaving them. Afraid that their kids won't afford a normal life or find good spouses or jobs.

Fear keeps coming up in our conversations.

It's unfortunate that they can't manage to be respectful to or vulnerable with their husbands which would open up avenues for getting comfort and having their fears addressed.

Instead they network with each other, share the same divorce lawyers, and mobilize on that path. It's scary to witness bc they don't even seem to want to do what they're doing.

This is self sabotage and dumb if it’s true. You share those divorce lawyers ladies. You’re only going to make yourself poorer if that’s what your aim is. The only one feeling more “safe” and economically stable will be the lawyer. Leave your husband and your cash and prizes will be gone in a decade so when you do hit 45, you won’t be getting stuff done to your face anyway. Besides a lot of those surgeons will be retiring by then.

I’ve seen it happen in real time. My mom divorced my dad when I was a teen and her dream was to get out of the rust belt and move to Florida. However housing prices happened in 2020-2023 and everyone and their dog moved to Florida. Now she’s priced out and complains about having to retire and die in the Rust Belt. She’d be there now if my folks stayed married. Divorcing your husband just causes more woes down the line.

This is just the curse of modernity it seems, where women feel justified to dump their husband because they don't get the same levels of excitement as when the relationship started. But women will still read and watch this tripe thinking that it's a documentary and the Disney life is on the other side of divorce papers.

There's variations like sometimes the woman instead of leaving her marriage will instead open it (but only for her) and start getting plowed by various other men while hubby has to sit there and take it but there always seems to be a common theme where the woman is typically white, upper-middle class, and educated.

Something that seems to have changed is that back then the woman had to show that the marriage was unhappy but in the new iterations of the divorce genre the woman will admit that her marriage has no issues and that the husband hasn't done anything wrong. This sort of naked and shameless show of selfishness is only possible in a culture that 1) places a high emphasis on "being true to yourself" and on individual expression and 2) especially caters that message towards women.

Another thing I noticed there isn't a male equivalent to this being promoted the mainstream media. I know there are some red pill independent type creators who do push the ideal of a man having many different women as the ideal but these type of guys aren't getting memoirs published by the big legacy media publishing companies. If anything these outlets will attack these sort of men for engaging in the sort of behavior that they would praise as "empowering" if it was being performed by women.
