Weird Things You've Noticed Recently

Boomers have been giving awful garbage advice for many decades now and have totally ruined the archetype of the "wise elder".
Until Boomers are all gone, the younger generations will not trust anything older people say.
Frankly, I agree with the young ones on this....
They’re kind of reaping what they’ve sown. Wasn’t their generation famous for not trusting anyone over thirty in their youth?

A weird thing I've noticed happening to me is my flagging ability to focus on intellectual topics. It's weird because I used to have immense interest in everything, as my handle indicates, but now I have no interest in anything. I was looking through unz.com's ebooks which were all on things I would have once-upon-a-time downloaded and read. I think it's because I increasingly feel like learning information for the sake of argument is pointless and so my brain is no longer curious about topics but actively rebels against them. I suppose now I'm the complete opposite to my handle. It's almost like a Flowers of Algernon situation except I'm not going retard.

I suspect some of it is due to overstimulation. I reduced my mental stimulation to mostly this site, but lately I've been getting into soccer and playing a co-op game with a friend, and now that I'm 40 I only have the energy for a few things. After 6pm I seem to be done, just incapable of sitting and enjoying a good book. This has never happened to me before, I used to be able to burn the midnight candle absorbing stuff. Has this happened to anyone else, where it's like you suddenly decide you're done trying to be intellectual and clear off your plate?
When I hit 40, I was done with bars and clubs...but I still had energy.

When I hit 50, I could barely get myself out of the house after work. But the thought of meeting a girl got me to drive to a coffee bar where they were working.

Now I'm even older and the only thing I want to do after dinner is take a short evening walk to digest my dinner, waste time watching YouTube videos or posting on here, and then jelling in front of the tube before bedtime to watch a show.

I honestly feel old now. Really old. Me, the eternal horndog, too tired and too jaded to even want to go out and meet a woman. If I find one in my small group that I go to twice a month, then fine. But the thought of going out now to try to meet a woman just depresses me and seems very boring. I never thought I'd actually become this person...

Everyone is different but I know men much older than you who still live life to the fullest, never missed a beat. Do you think it's a mental thing or a physical thing?

Honestly working especially of the modern variety wears you down mentally. Humans were not designed to work 50 years for a corporation. I bet if you had retired at age 40 you would be feeling very differently now.

Also lack of drive to meet a woman is because you are exhausted from dealing with garbage western women. If you were living in Belarus or Russia, etc I think you would be far more enthusiastic about going out to meet new women.

For one, my body is healing from an ailment. So there's that. But what is also wearing me down is the fact that I run my own company and working very hard to grow that business. It would be fine if I was still in my 30s or 40s, but at my age, I need to be delegating a lot of stuff to employees instead of working 10-hour days. However, I'm not in a position financially to do that right now and inflation has only made it harder to get by. So my nights are usually spent working at the computer or relaxing at home to recharge.

And yeah, if I moved to Europe tomorrow, I'm sure I would suddenly have the energy to get myself out of my apartment to meet local girls. American women have made me jaded and it's a huge part of me giving up on finding a wife here in the US.

The whole world just seems more exhausted in general.

Having kids around does give you a type of energy that can be used in other aspects of your life, but they also drain your energy in other ways.

It just seems that even the teenagers don't have the energy they used to either, which is surprising to me.
It's because everybody is wasting that energy, and their mental bandwidth, processing information overload from their digital devices.

The food is also a lot less nutritious now. The very soil is now poor in nutrients and rich in toxins. Saint Paisios talks about this. You have to supplement that with something and probably use nootropics. It's why I drink Monster™ a couple times a week.

People think I'm joking when I tell them that Monster™ energy drinks are good for you in moderation, but if you actually look at the list of ingredients, they're basically cocktails of nootropics and vitamins, and they are only unhealthy in the same ways any carbonated drink is unhealthy, that being the sugar and the acidic PH, which is simply not a big deal in moderation. Amazingly, they even make them with real sugar and not HFCS.

Maddox I would like to point something out to you.

I replied to you offering something which may help, you ignored it. @Australia Sucks offered enabling and excuses and you went for it.

You should give that a long hard think brother....

"OK Boomer" was really just a lame leftist meme, and it died pretty fast many years ago. Kind of surprising that people still talk about it. I wouldn't interpret it as a sign that younger people as a whole have a lack of respect for their elders. Like in every generation ever, some people respect their elders and some don't.

Yeah, but you have those statistics people are sharing now about bookers refusing to give kids an inheritance.

It's uuuh, I don't know how to say. It seems a bit ungrateful? Why do you need an inheritance?

What do you need but what God gibe's you?

St. Paisios has a great point about the vegetables. Everything is poison now, I don't know what to eat anymore and just hope for the best. The most obvious thing we can do is avoid ultra-highly processed foods and limit seed oils and sugar.

It's really hard to supplement everything you need though. Excess supplementation can also harm you, and there are potentially hundreds of beneficial substances in all natural foods that science understands very little about.
