While I clicked and was looking at this thread for the first time, you pulled it on him- funny. I responded calmly to his rando posts about Russia. He always seemed to just go crazy about nothing all of a sudden, and he had no info on his profile page. Seemed like a troll glowie, which you apparently also saw.

I'll ban whoever attempts to shit up the forum after receiving multiple warnings.

If he has other sockpuppet accounts and continues his bad behavior, those accounts will also be banned. I'm not personally aware of any, but I'll keep an eye out. If you have definitive evidence feel free to present it.
 
One of the last things he wrote before he got ban hammered was "Our ancestors were Vikings and they had worshiped their ancient gods of Nature, the gods of Aryan White people, which made them strong, that's what I believe in". The implication behind that is that the pagan gods are worthy of being worshipped because they were associated with people that should be viewed as exemplars (viking LARPing) and because the worship of them supposedly make you strong (then why were they unable to resist converting to Christianity?). In other words, any value these "gods" have are based on what they can do for you and what utilitarian benefit they can bring to you. This isn't unique to Nordic paganism but pretty much to all form of paganism around the world whether it be modern Mestizos LARPing as Aztec warriors or African Americans LARPing as hotep/ancient Egyptian. Stuff like this just confirms to me more about how Christianity is different from other religions and how why it's totally midwit to think saying "well - well - uh Jesus is no different from Thor or Zeus".

Paganism is basically sky genie worship. “What can this god do for me?” is their highest question. Entirely utilitarian. Besides, their gods are personifications of first causes. Meanwhile my gods name means “he who is.” He is “it.” What is rain, wind, thunder, and and the moon compared to fate, time, prophecy and anima. My god unlike theirs is not bound by death. Their “gods” are subject to fate and time just like us, which makes them unworthy of worship.

@Blade Runner has received a long overdue temporary ban for his inability to control his aggressive and condescending posting. He received multiple warnings and a great deal of patience from me personally over the past several months, to the extent that I actually asked Samseau to step in on a previous occasion to referee a dispute between us. But today Blade Runner was not only posting in a supremely patronizing manner, but was outright lying about things I'd previously said, apropos of nothing, in a discussion I wasn't even currently involved in. This is simply unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

If you cannot engage in debates and discussions with people you disagree with while maintaining a certain level of respect and decorum, you will not be posting here.

Perhaps he is mistaken about his own feelings. Personally I feel that I Trump is a King like figure who has received the mandate of Heaven, and while I am British, as I live in a country whose King has betrayed us, and who God has grown disappointed in, figures like Donald Trump have occupied the place of my King in my heart.

I understand you disagree with my interpretation.

I say these things, because years ago, I was banned from that leftist thread on that site infiltrated by communists spacebattles.

I do not know if it was right or wrong, but as someone who was right wing on a thread of communists discussing how to infiltrate right wing forums and discord servers, they saw me as trolling.

This is a very different matter, and arguably not one that even matters being so pedantic, but I would just like to say that I can't help but see part of myself promising those Communists they would pay for their wicked ways alone in BeatUpTruck insisting on what he believes even as nobody else in the thread agrees with him.

Obviously, that doesn't make banning people for trolling a bad thing, just because bad people can use it. I just can't see it without wondering if by being quiet about it, I am becoming in anyway like the very people that once persecuted me for choosing God instead of Communism.

As I've said before, I have trust in the mods of this forum.

@Samseau can you please reconsider this ban for the few weeks or a month ban instead? I understand there was beef but music was a good contributor and I feel that a few weeks or a month can still serve as an effective timeout, and if music comes back and breaks the rules then the ban can be for twelve months from that point onward. I feel like what caused the jump from 5 to 20 points, seems quite a large rise in points.

I would agree that 20 points is not 12 times worse than 15.

I can understand the idea of escalating penalties but I think 3 months would be a reasonable step from 1 month.
 
His original ban was for a month but then he apparently tried to create a new fake account to get around the ban which I consider to be pretty serious since it's an attempt to deceive the members and staff of this forum as opposed to just getting feisty with someone in a debate. He was not banned just because of a "personal beef" but because he had already been caught plagiarizing previously and then plagiarized again despite being given leniency and left off with a warning the first time he plagiarized. Couple this with the attempt to create a fake account and it points to a pattern of dishonesty which should absolutely not be tolerated on this forum - disagreeing is allowed but lying and deceit should not be at all.

I don't see how performing the sort of actions he did can be squared with him also being a "good contributor" - if you are a plagiarizer then no matter how good your posts are how can anyone trust you to be a honest actor if there's always a shadow hanging over you about if you are actually presenting your own ideas? Back on the old forums NASA Test Pilot had a reputation for writing a lots of posts that people enjoyed and he was considered to be a "good contributor" by many members but once it was discovered that he was plagiarizing them there's no way whatever positive qualities the post had could ever over overcome the fact they were ripped off from other parts of the web.

I think the mods were already being very merciful with not giving him a permaban. Shaquilleoatmeal wrote above "and if music comes back and breaks the rules then the ban can be for twelve months from then." but this is what MFTP already had done - he came back (or rather attempted to come back with a fake account) and hence why he ended up with the 1 year ban. It's not like he was given this one year ban as a first offence.

A 1 year ban is the right amount for "music" considering all the many warnings he was given by the moderators.
His ridiculous word salads, and endless walls of (mostly plagiarized) text ruined good threads all over the forum.
He should count himself lucky it isn't a permanent ban.
