It's lose-lose for many of those gulf nations. If the UAE supports the US, it will continue to be a target of Iranian drone and missile strikes which will gradually wreck its economy as expats and influences leave.

However, if they stand up to Trump and are a subsequently hit with sanctions or tariffs, it would be devastating too. Though I do beluga that Russians would quickly step in and fill the void.

Standing up to Trump will be a lot less painful that getting wrecked by Iran. Trump is not going to tariff ME oil. It would be an insane move that would get him roasted alive at home.

Continued military action - no guarantee of success.
Escalation - could require a ground operation and trigger strikes on regional energy infrastructure.


They don't mention the obvious fifth option: Meet the Iranian demands - End the conflict, withdraw militarily from the Gulf States, accept Iran's offer to dilute the enrichment level of stored uranium, and pay Iran compensation for the war. It would solve all the issues, but be too painful for egos of Trump and the radicals surrounding him.

To illustrate, the responsibility for morality and restraint is for those who have the upper hand. As an adult, you can choose to treat a small child with decency or you can abuse it, but it is very difficult for the child to impose things on you unless the adult left open a vulnerability. You for one believe the US is much stronger, this puts the responsibility of decency on their end, which IMHO the US hasn't been doing as shown by the fact that due to US/Israel middling in the Middle East. Christians have lost protections they once had, and their population is a fragment of what it once was.

The original propaganda was that the US didn't bomb the kids school. The goal-post-shifted propaganda that the US blew up the school in ignorance isn't much better. Israel has no problem blowing up hospitals full of families just to get at a few Hamas members. I doubt that the MIC in the US would lose sleep doing just the same, might makes right and all that. But even if the second talking point is true, why is the US bombing targets when they don't even know what the targets are? In either case, the MIC comes out looking like the bloodthirsty war-profiteers that they are.

True, I'm armchair quarterbacking here as I have no intention of going to my death over (((someone else's))) problems (I have no issue with Iran until their troops roll into my hometown), but civilian infrastructure is fair game.

When Ghengis Khan conquered Iraq back in the day he destroyed their ancient water systems to kill as many people as possible and to get the job done fast, to date that water system hasn't been repaired.

I personally think that Iran announcing this in advance to to try and get those nations to side with them and to abandon their US allies, in this case attacking their water plants isn't going to neutralize their enemy, it can also be a "if we going down we gonna takr everyone down with us" kind of attitude.

I hate to say it, but the Dems (with some help from Republicans which will be needed) should invoke the 25th Amendment and/or initiate impeachment proceedings and remove Trump (and Hegseth) from office. Whatever the cost, this illegal and immoral for-profit jew war must be stopped.

Bonds. Trump cares about his donors. But unless the US military moving is cancelled. This is just a pause. Watch what they do. Not what they say.



Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that entities holding US Treasury bonds could be considered legitimate targets alongside military bases.

“US treasury bonds are soaked in Iranians' blood,” Ghalibaf said in a post on X on Sunday.
“Purchase them, and you purchase a strike on your HQ and assets,” he added.
He said financial entities that finance the US military budget would be treated as legitimate targets.

The problem is that the Gulf States has already chosen a side and evidently have already collaborated with Israel through providing logistics for the bombing runs and playing hosts to US military.

They thought they could be like Thailand during the Vietnam War, who hosted US Bombers at a safe distance - collecting $ while facilitating death & destruction but now that Iran has shown themselves to not be anything like Vietnam or Venezula, the Gulf States are sweating and regretting participating in this bet.

This drama with them choosing sides is just kabuki theater for the normies.

The only way out for the Gulf States is if Iran loses or they themselves get regime changed.
