Cars You Guys Are Into

Really? the UBS guy said that. Damn. Where is the nearest chinese stand? Is it painted yellow? Can I buy a yellow BYD. Or are they all sold out?

Looll. Dude you make a lot really a lot of wishful thinking mixed with childish propaganda. You seem too smart to be a yellow. So most likely you married one? You work for yellows? Yellow company? If china becomes the 1 world power she will dump you. Wanna bet? It´s a façade man. Yellows are never to be trusted. Anyway.

Someone praising a chinese car. I´ve f seen it all.

Actually this broad I knew (she is euro but a museum curator in China) once took a picture near a chinese supercar in stand and the car looked nice. NIO EP9. It´s probably a knock off of some EU/US brand. But at least it doesnt look like fast and furious japanese car. Thats a nice looking car.

The BMW I4 is ok. Will ask for a test drive. BMW seemed to be going back to quality cars. Their 2010 cars were worthless shit. Mercedes just saw a post of a guy who says just to change a led you need to buy the entire light. 1500euros. F them. A friend of mine just ordered a Tesla Y. He has 2-3M on Tesla stock. But never owned one until now. Expected deliveries in 2028. Teslas are not bad.

Auto brands are really abusing their clients with those spare part scams, BMW and Toyota also got some flack for trying to use subscription models for things like heated car seats or remote entry.

UBS industry analysts' report is "childish"?

Your buddy is going to take a bath with the Tesla stock, they have a market cap of $1.3T, 9 times higher than BYD's, which already sells 3x as many cars. Tesla P/E ratio of 380!

The Chinese auto industry is still a novelty in much of the world. We don't have the same types of conversations about Japanese or Korean cars....

This is a ranking of reliability in the US auto market. There are no Chinese cars in the US auto market. Duh!

That's the problem with posters from undisclosed locations halfway around the world.

What does my location have to do with anything? I guess the CCPEE wumao in you wants to stalk everyone.

There are no Chinese cars in the US auto market? Good.

Come to think of it, the Lada Niva does look a bit FIAT-ish:

LADANIVA-255_1.jpg

If the Lada Niva were available here, I would have loved to buy one.

The Russians are good at building utilitarian, no-frills reliable products like that Niva, AK-47, Mig-21 or the T-34, part of their soviet heritage, and the harsh climate conditions. Most of these are military products, partly because they have only had two decades of post-communist development, and before the war had the Dutch disease of being able to import products due to their large exports of natural resources.
I had 3 different Nivas. I loved them. Wish I had one still but all the Canadian ones turned into compost many years ago.

A buddy in university had a Lada and one day Calgary got hammered with a massive snowfall and vehicles that got stuck were quickly snowed in. When things cleared up a bit he picked me up and armed with huge thermoses of hot coffee, schnapps, shovels and come-alongs, we drove around pulling people out. That little Lada had nothing but tin to keep out the elements but we stayed warm and it was a blast helping people out. We even wore our beaver skin hats to look the part.

Good memories from the 90s.

Can't You even have a conversation about cars without dunking on each other?

@Eagle3 Don't insult other members.
Keep trying wumao. Let's see how desperate you are. Beg more.

@Cooper Not everyone is comfortable disclosing their location on an open forum (I don't think I ever did), respect his privacy.

I would love to get an older Tacoma or 4Runner. Unfortunately even older, used Toyotas are pretty expensive right now.

I also really like older Ford Rangers.

I just want a simple, reliable and small truck or suv. It would be perfect for my job and hobbies.
