Rural Living, Prepping and Survival

(This is why this forum is so great.)

He does? I know this article only. Can you share a link?
I just ordered them off of Amazon, the 3 titles are:

SHTF Survival Stories - Memories from the Balkan War

The Dark Secrets of SHTF Survival: The Brutal Truth About Violence, Death, & Mayhem You Must Know to Survive

SHTF Survival Boot Camp: A Course for Urban and Wilderness Survival during Violent, Off-Grid, & Worst Case Scenarios

Haven't seen a comprehensive list of tools and equipment. Particularly around fire arms/medical equipment/water purification.

Id add the below as must haves regardless of your living situation.

- ceramic water filter both portable pump and large multi gallon stand alone unit.
-solar battery chargers- tons of these can be purchased cheep
- flashlights and rechargeable batteries. I like steam light and surefire
-tarps - you need tarps when out in the bush hunting or in field craft. I have several of the usmc field tarps...you can get from eBay

-Medical Equipment
You MUST get basic CLS training. Know how to use a tourniquet, combat gauze, apply a nasal pharyngeal tube.
-darkangelmedical trauma kit is an excellent all in one kit for under $200.

Guns
This isn't all encompassing...and I own a lot of guns but if I had to pick 5 this is what I'd buy:
-- hand gun (I like 9mm) 500 rounds same lot duty ammo 1000 rounds same eight target ammo
-- small game rifle (22lr) I'd get 5000 rounds same ammo. I like subsonic and suppressors but not necessarily
- ar 15 or ak 47 (500 rounds duty ammo + 2000 rounds training ammo) with a red dot or 1-4 power scope and a 300 lumen light.
- Big game hunting rifle . I like 308 t3x made by Tikka...but there's tons of great options under $1200. Get a decent scope. I like a 4 - 12 or 15 power scope. I'm a snob on this one so I like night force or trijicon. But others work. Id buy 500 rounds same lot hunting ammo and 500 rounds training ammo, also some good scope mounts.
-12 gauge shotgun. I like a Remington 1100 or a Stoeger 3500. Buy a couple cases of bird, a case of Buck and youre good. Multiple chokes depending on the gun and application.

Superb man. This is why this forum is worth gold - there is always someone who can expand on any given subject.

For those young (and old) folks who think they will never be able afford a home here is a solution. Go to your local community college and take some construction classes then buy a couple acres for under 10K that has a 7 foot diameter fallen tree on it and build this:

*In before the doomers come in with, "Where am I going to find land with a 7 foot diameter fallen tree!?!"😂

I hate that guy so much.

That guy has an unreal level of skill. Most tradesman let alone most layman could not do what he does.

Most tradesman in Kangaroo land do subpar work and let you remortgage your house for their work they didn't complete properly.

* Oh and try hollowing a log out here, you'll spend more time in jail than a murderer.

Bro, just stop with the "grass is always greener on the other side" blackpilling. There are 100's of videos on JewTube of Ozzies going off-grid in hidden locales successfully against the permit restrictions of the state. I've spent 2 years total in Oz, it is huge, with very low population density. If you can't find a private nook away from the prying eyes of the government then that means you are a city dweller who doesn't like being out in the wilderness alone and that's on you.

^This beaut seems to be built pretty well.

Thank you for helping me elevate the value of the property I'm trying to sell.

Australia is the most beautiful place on earth the problem is the loons that run the place, plus the apathy of the population regarding to any new laws etc (remember COVID?).

Yeah you can live in a cave or log somewhere, good luck dealing with the corrupt counsel who ARE allowed to carry guns because you can't.

Issue out there is the gun control.

I wouldn't be able to hang out in the bush with out muh small arsenal.

Red………… everything you’re bringing up/complaining about is happening everywhere. It’s global.

Guns aren’t completely outlawed.
Most people that own them have never had to kill someone for trespassing and wouldn’t have the balls to do so.
Can I have an ar 15 with 30 round magazines, body armor, handguns with 15 round capacity?

If the answer is no then it's effectively outlawed in practice.

I have his 3 books; excellent, required reading for anybody in a (for now) civilized, developed nation.
This guy had a website back in the day with a bunch of videos. I subscribed to it, very informative stuff and practical information. That was back in 2013 I haven’t this name since until I ran across this post.

Are you planning on taking out a small army???? 😉

Plenty of home invasions involve multiple assailants.

Assuming they make it through ny ferocious dogs, we gonna be getting in a firefight.

Id prefer to dispatch with them with the same tools I shot tens of thousands of rounds through in the service.
