The Movie Thread

I was definitely entertained when I watched it in the cinema, but thematically, it promotes/engenders sympathy for degenerate minorities and immigrants.

While never having seen the movie, I just read the plot on Wikipedia and it sounds like a metaphor for what's going on in the UK right now. A whole bunch of illegal "aliens" portrayed as refugees have landed in their country. The government relocates the sick ones to an internment camp that later becomes a ghetto and locals obviously don't want them there. Sounds vaguely similar, doesn't it?

I bet this film was made to prep the people of the UK and other Western countries to have sympathy for these strangers so they'd allow this real life invasion to happen instead of immediately booting these people out of their land.

"The Little Colonel" featuring Shirley Temple was one of the vhs films I had growing up and I loved it.

We had a staircase similar to the one in the movie at my school and I remember trying to do the same tap dance on the way up and down the stairs.
