On one hand, they are not hypocrites.

On the other hand, believing that sacred texts you claim are false or dangerous, when you would kill people who follow them and make them choose between Islam or death, in essence, implies that you know your own text is not true.

In that sense, we have great reason to believe Muhammed was a deceived Prophet, foretold in Kings.

None of the Prophets claimed that God would punish them with a painful death if their words were not true. They did not need to justify themselves. They accepted persecution, and many were persecuted. Their word became known as true anyway.

Muhammed perhaps did not believe he was a true Prophet in some sense. Or perhaps Satan intended this when deceiving him, for how else would Muslims, Jews and Pagans work to fight against Christianity today?
