Good song by Mike and The Mechanics with religious references in the lyrics that seems even more relevant today.

Take the children and yourself
And hide out in the cellar
By now the fighting will be close at hand
Don't believe the church and state
And everything they tell you
Believe in me, I'm with the high command
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
There's a gun and ammunition
Just inside the doorway
Use it only in emergency
Better you should pray to God
The Father and the Spirit
Will guide you and protect from up here
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer

Whoops, forgot some of the lyrics. This song was supposed to be about England in the future. How very prophetic...especially the line, "
For some day sons and daughters will rise up and fight while we stood still." Sounds about right seeing that no one is doing any protesting over there right now while letting England become a Totalitarian state.

[Verse 1]
Take the children and yourself
And hide out in the cellar
By now the fighting will be close at hand
Don't believe the church and state
And everything they tell you
Believe in me, I'm with the high command

[Chorus]
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

[Verse 2]
There's a gun and ammunition
Just inside the doorway
Use it only in emergency
Better you should pray to God
The Father and the Spirit
Will guide you and protect from up here

[Chorus]
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

[Bridge]
Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stood still

[Chorus]
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me running (can you hear me calling you?)
(Can you hear me) hear me calling you?
(Can you hear me running) hear me running babe?
(Can you hear me running) hear me running?
Calling you, calling you

Music like this takes me back to my grandparents as a kid. I can smell the beer and bratwurst as my grandfather grills out on a cool Wisconsin summer evening, mixed with the occasional whiff of his cigarette. His generation made it through a depression and WWII (and heard their fathers talk of WWI). Despite all the times things were down or seemed perilous, they still had a sense of optimism, and their musical tastes reflected that.

I play this in the car with my kids and they love it. They’ll silently listen as we drive, and I’ve overheard my four year old humming these tunes. Catchy, upbeat and just plain happy, despite the times we’re in.

Here's another banger

I remember this song from a PUA movie with Aston Kutcher called spread. It stuck in my head after seeing the movie. And I immediately recognized. In the movie they play live version.

Actually this week got a call from an old friend. He is 45 now. Called me out of the blue. Went to a casino with him for a beer. I actually had a soda cause I can´t drink alcohol now for a while. The guy was showing me photos of the chicks his dating. He says the trick now is to say to a girl: "Prove me your a woman." And she will send a picture proving it. Very nice photos. Looolll. The player lifestyle there was an energy for the hunt. I tried to replace this energy with making money but it´s not the same. The restlesness. And the possibility to be a drifter bum. He is engineer. But works online. During Covid he went to south america and roamed the entire coast. He said everything was empty. And he cruised incredible sceneries with a jeep. Staying in luxury hotels dirt cheap. Anyway he is now dating a chick who cooks him meals and he wanted to know legal implications of starting to live with her. Gave him some advices.

The other day I went to a Shakira concert. The people who invited me had an extra ticket, so why not? I'm not a fan nor know her music that well, but my wife is Colombian and is a big fan. During her performance some things stood out
1 - doesn't seem like she uses vocal enhancements. I could be wrong, but her voice seems authentic.
2 - doesn't seem like a crude, vulgar person. Didn't hear any foul language nor offensive talk.
3 - hips don't lie. She dances sensually but not dirty or trashy. Her backup dancers were cute but not vulgar. Being honest, her dancing is specific style, maybe belly dancing arabic. It doesn't really peak my interest.
4 - most of the audience dressed more modestly than a typical trashy American concert, I.e Beyonce, Pink, etc. Of course there were a minority of women who dressed very provocatively.
5 - back to her voice...I think her voice is somewhat overrated. Obviously she is a very talented artist. But there's only one Adele.
6 - during the show, each flag of LATM was presented . Of course the Colombia flag provoked a big response. The biggest response was Mexico. I didn't like that considering the current state of affairs.
7 - no lines for the men's rest room. That was the best part. 😁
Overall, I left with a nice impression. I'm still not in love with her music, but I enjoyed the show
