Not sure where to post this, but it sounds like DOGE is auditing and looking into IRS data that may raise a lot of questions and red flags.

Edit.

The acting head of the Internal Revenue Service is stepping down, according to The NY Times after the agency agreed to share undocumented migrants’ tax information with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

That’s how absolutely broken the federal work force is. I don’t understand what these people are thinking.

They would rather quit than allow President Trump to deport illegals.

The Trump administration has been working to enable the IRS to share taxpayer data of undocumented immigrants with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This includes names, addresses, and other identifying information of individuals suspected of being in the U.S. without authorization.

DHS initially sought data on 700,000 people with final removal orders (Washington Post, April 5, 2025). This request later expanded to potentially include up to 7 million individuals.

This marks a significant departure from past IRS practices, which have historically protected taxpayer data as confidential, even for undocumented immigrants.

About half of the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S. file tax returns meaning millions could be affected by this data-sharing initiative.

To execute mass deportations, ICE needs to locate undocumented immigrants. Many of these individuals are not easily trackable through traditional law enforcement channels, but the IRS has their data because undocumented immigrants file taxes using ITINs. Sharing this data allows ICE to identify and locate millions of people for deportation.

Meaning that this agreement to share information between DHS and the IRS is a very important step in the continuation of President Trump’s promise to conduct mass deportations.

So important is this information sharing agreement that the idea logs at the IRS like the acting commissioner stepped down because nobody in the federal government actually wants to deport the criminal illegal aliens who came here during the Biden years.

I'm assuming the ones that file taxes are the ones that have been here forever leaching off the system, filing "taxes" for them is a procedural thing they don't pay anywhere close to their weight. Those are the most important ones to get rid of, they do the most damage to the rest of us. The Mexican who barely speaks any English and is easy to spot isn't nearly as damaging as the Albanian Muslim guy who has been here for 30 years taking from actual Americans and just decided he wasn't going to ever try to become a citizen because it benefits him more to be an illegal, him and his entire 8 person immediate family and countless relatives.

I know a girl like that, mid 20's during Trumps first term she was upset because she might be deported as a "dreamer" and was looking for sympathy. I told her that her and her family didn't make very wise decisions and half the people in the room admonished me for it and then when she left all agreed with me....idiots.

I know an Albanian who lived in the projects as an asylee while owning a food joint, a mostly cash business where hiding profits is easy, not that I support the income tax. He came through Mexico without any papers and claimed asylum as a victim of Serb persecution, he had never seen a Serb in his life, he had lived as an illegal in Greece and Italy. He'd complain how tough the immigration prosecutor was to fool. Got married here and had kids, got even more social benefits through them- their thinking is only suckers don't game the system. As the business got going their domestic mafia must have noticed and demanded a piece of the action, he's a silent partner now and runs the "Italian" restaurant day to day, while the official ownership is under another man's name.
