SECRET: If you were listening closely you might have heard Trump mention a 'secret' he had with Speaker Johnson. It is abundantly clear that if Trump wants to put his dream team together he's going to need to make a BUNCH of recess appointments. The Senate is unlikely to agree to adjourn so he can use his authority to adjourn both chambers as long as Johnson cooperates. Is that the 'secret' Trump mentioned?
Under Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, the President has the authority to adjourn Congress in the case of a disagreement between the House and Senate over the time of adjournment. It's a power that has never been used, and its scope remains relatively untested. Here’s a quick summary of the conditions that would be needed:
One House Must Request Adjournment:
One of the chambers (in this case, likely the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Johnson) would formally seek to adjourn.
The Other House Must Refuse: The other chamber (in this scenario, the Senate) must then refuse to agree to this request. If this condition is met, it opens the door for the President to step in and resolve the disagreement by adjourning both chambers.
Once Congress is adjourned, the President could use the recess to make "recess appointments" under Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution. This would allow Trump to install his preferred Cabinet members without Senate confirmation.

How exactly is this a blackpill if I preach that the people must become more spiritually attuned and physically gritty and tribally connected to deal with the future? This same logic would call the Bible a blackpilling book for saying how we're all allegedly about to get wrecked in Revelations.
We are very grateful to the thousands of Americans who have expressed interest in helping us at DOGE. We don’t need more part-time idea generators. We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting. If that’s you, DM this account with your CV. Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants.
@Lynnenallo: Sickening.

@David747Heavy: It's amazing how you are giving that POS, Donald Trump, the treatment he did not give you 4 years ago.
...
@Ronxyz00: Trump refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power the last time. Why even invite him?
...
@taradublinrocks: Sir, you welcomed a fascist convicted felon into the White House today who does not deserve one iota of your kindness
Trump conspired with Vladimir Putin and Elon Musk to steal this election and we should be fighting fascism instead of enabling it

@WeRSoFukd: What a disgrace. I was an ardent supporter of yours, Joe, but you have absolutely failed us. Your legacy is trashed. Enjoy Guantanamo. The guy youre turning us over to hates you and you are at the top of his revenge list. Good luck!

@bobbyduthu: I appreciate your lifetime of service, and in-particular, your selfless and patriotic sacrifice to allow Vice President Harris to run against Trump.
But your devil-may-care-attitude and powder-puff treatment of Trump post-election, is infuriating, if not unforgivable.
This son-of-a-bitch has vowed to act as a dictator, up to and including taking a sledge hammer to the values of our nation, and threatening his version of Hitlers’ infamous, “night of the long-knives, and all you can come up with is, “my team is committed to doing everything we can to ensure the incoming administration has what they need.”
This is unacceptable behavior, and conduct unbecoming a President of the United States, and I couldn’t be more disappointed.
Accordingly, it pains me to say, shame on you Mr. President.
I see a lot of posts on Twitter claiming maybe Gaetz for AG is just a feign by Trump, an extreme nomination that's intended to fail, but will create so much heat and smoke that it will distract resistance away from other candidates.
They say Trump can pick someone else who will be equally effective after the smoke clears, and Gaetz can be given something else as a consolation for having resigned his seat in congress. Or, he can even be dumped and forgotten.
First of all, I know things like this happen in politics, but I don't think Trump is planning this. I think Trump is planning on using a recess appointment to get Gaetz in, along with all the rest of his picks. There are too many RINOs in the senate for Trump to risk going through the normal confirmation process.
However, beyond that, I don't know that there are others who would be as good as him. I'm sure there might be other lawyers with more legal skill and experience, but I think Trump needs an attack dog to rip the DOJ to shreds, and eviscerate the FBI, or better yet fully disband it and start over. I can't think of any one else who will go on the attack more than Gaetz.
I admit Paxton would be good too. He's fought the good fight in TX against the Federal Government, but somehow I think Gaetz has the relentless aggression that's needed.
More on the Gaetz resignation:
Apparently there was a longstanding House ethics probe into Gaetz on "sex trafficking" charges that was due to be released yesterday. By resigning, he ended the probe and prevented its release, since the House has no jurisdiction to investigate a non-member.
I don't see how he gets confirmed by the Swamp Senators, but if he's confident in Trump's ability to appoint him using recess procedures the move makes sense.
I know it's probably why I'll never be rich, but I think working 80 hours weeks is absurd, and horrendous. No amount of money or prestige is worth working that much in my opinion.
Sorry for the thread hijack.
