The Rest In Peace (RIP) Thread

I saw some tweets about how he was talking to some director, and trying to get in touch with his character. The director told him to think of it like when you strike out with a girl. Redford was like "I don't know what you mean?". He'd apparently never had that experience.

I'm too "young" to have grown up when he was a big movie star but in the older movies I've seen him in he always struck me in a positive way.

Underrated movie where he's the only actor. RIP

Dick Cheney Dead At Age 84

I'm surprised he was only 84. I would have thought he was older, but I guess it adds up. He was defense secretary from 89 to 93 under Bush Sr, and would have been age 48 to 52 during that time. That seems young to me now, but at the time I saw him as an older, middle aged man. He was chief of staff to President Ford in the 70s, but he was only 34 at the time!

He was a huge figure in US history, but was hated by many. I liked him as Defense Secretary in the early 90s, and I initially liked him as VP under Bush Jr. I saw him speak at a campaign rally once. With time, the Bush Jr administration has looked worse and worse, and so has Cheney. His daughter is terrible, and she casts a shadow on his legacy as well. I don't think history will treat him well. Certainly not in the near future.

If I hate anyone, it's Sacha Baron Cohen, but Cheney deserved what Cohen did to him on his Who Is America series.

Also, Cheney autographing a bottle ostensibly used for water boarding.
