I think you are conflating personal optimism with societal optimism, and this can get very complex.

I am naturally a very optimistic person, on the very extreme end of it. I come by it naturally, my family is that way, also I was born into a lot, also I practice gratitude, which I highly recommend. At the same time, the reality is a shrinking number of high IQ people cannot continue to support a growing number of low IQ people. Eventually there will have to be a great change or the system will bust. And God gave us the ability to change the system. He gave us great and powerful brains that have created communications and knowledge sharing around the globe. I now see more and more young men realizing the damages of third world immigration and it is catching on like a wildfire.

So, I actually do believe something will happen, because we will make it happen. I am optimistic we will achieve it, but at the same time, if we get complacent and think things will just work out or that God will do it for us, then it will not happen.
