Technically he's right.
Even if he's an Edomite, God told the Israelites to not hate the Edomites, because they are their brothers.

He was way too nice.
He went out of his way to ask for peace many times. He let the Jews have nurseries and Swimming pools when austerity could have left his Germans more resources to fight the war.
