Hi, have you ever been to the United States? If a state governor was arrested, died, went into a coma, whatever, the lieutenant governor will become governor . The president doesn’t get to pick a new governor.
And the lieutenant governor would "govern" like Newsom. The president would install a new governor if he intended to place the state under martial law.
This is one of the worst ideas I’ve ever heard. Let’s pretend the state of California rejected the lieutenant governor and accepted the newly appointed governor from Trump(it’s not real but let’s pretend what you are describing is a real option.).
The next time a democrat becomes president, they could declare martial law for another fake pandemic, and replace all of the Republican governors with the stroke of a pen, that don’t go along with shut downs, mask mandates and other nonsense because you just created the precedent for it.

Yes and if the lieutenant governor refuses to obey Federal laws he'll be arrested too. Trump can just keep throwing them in jail until no one is left if all refuse, and perhaps then the Feds can appoint someone.
It's an interesting question if an entire state's executive branch refuses to comply, they'll have to go back to old Civil War insurrection laws at that point.
Well sure. Follow the line of succession until you find someone willing to follow the law. I’m not sure how quickly feds can remove a governor for blatantly ignoring the law? Does it take a day? A week? Longer?

Ha I was just about to post this about the masks that protect blast debris.
I guess that is the question, if we really do have an actual Attorney General’s office, that investigates And fights this sort of organized crime, will they actually be able to follow the money trail? Find the ring leaders? Find who is funding all of this? Go after them?
