In France, rugby is growing in popularity as a kind of white flight from minority-dominated soccer.
I don't think its really fair to criticize blacks and other minorities in the soccer teams. To be fair a lot of those black soccer players are quite good so its not a case of diversity just for its own sake. Black people as a whole are good at certain sports (marathon running, sprinting, etc). Brazil for example has historically had many blacks and mestizos on its national soccer team and they have won a lot of world cups. As long as the minority people on the French soccer team were born in France and are good players then I do not see the problem.
By the way I am against pushing diversity as anyone else on this forum or giving people special privileges just for diversity but if somebody is genuinely skilled at something should we be against them just for the sake of being anti-diverse? That just feels like being extreme in the other direction.
Every Brazilian black, white or mulatto reveres Pele as a national hero due to his acumen.
And the French soccer team has a decent track record over time so I don't think its fair to say the non-whites ruined their soccer team.
