Papal conclave

Which faction has the majority in the College of Cardinals ?
Who are the favorites ?
Is DEI Pope possible ?

On Twitter I keep seeing Cardinal Robert Sarah mentioned. He is an African cardinal who is outspokenly conservative. They are saying he would be the anti-woke pope.

It's strange, because it's usually woke to have a black person fill a role that's always been filled with whites before, but sometimes you have exceptions like Supreme Court Justice Thomas.

Are there other candidates being discussed that are anti-woke and strong for traditional morality?

While this guy would be a big improvement for the Catholic Church, I am expecting the worst.

This is the same Church that somehow got a conservative Pope to resign and was then replaced with super liberal Pope Francis. Something is seriously wrong and things have only gotten worse since Francis started packing the Cardinals with other (((Jesuits))).

Honestly looking pretty bleak for the Catholics. I pray I'm wrong and the Catholics return to Orthodoxy.

The Twitter hype about Cardinal Robert Sarah is mostly hopium. He is indeed a conservative on social issues, and he's basically one of the only conservatives left in the college of cardinals (which is why so many RCs are so hopeful about him).

Francis hand selected the vast majority (over 80%) of cardinal electors who will decide the next pope. The remaining 20% are made up of cardinals who elected Francis. The future pope is almost certainly going to be a liberal. I'm guessing someone like Tagle as the RCs' best hope. It will be Tagle or much worse.

FYI: Tagle is a "charismatic Catholic" Filipino cardinal who is pretty liberal on social issues.

Please note: the thread didn’t include this first name, but we think he’s in the running—and honestly, he’d be a strong pick.

1. Cardinal Péter Erdo – GOOD
Traditional, disciplined, not flashy, and no interest in turning the Church into a woke social club. Solid, serious pick who actually respects doctrine.

2. Cardinal Robert Sarah – GOOD
The dream pope for traditional Catholics. Unapologetically bold, anti-woke, fiercely pro-life. But he’s 79 and way too real for the Vatican elites to ever back.

3. Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa – GOOD
Tough, grounded, and not playing globalist games. Doesn’t go full trad, but definitely not woke either. A respectable, stable choice.

4. Cardinal Charles Bo – BAD
Too focused on social justice and “interfaith” outreach. Leans left when it counts. Not a warrior for tradition.

5. Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith – GOOD
Quiet, serious, and committed to old-school Catholicism. He respects tradition and isn’t chasing modern trends—but his age might work against him.

6. Cardinal Daniel Sturla – GOOD
Orthodox, clear-headed, and not afraid to speak the truth in a secular culture. Underrated, but very solid.

7. Cardinal William Goh – BAD
Way too weak. Talks tradition, but plays both sides. Not trustworthy when it comes to holding the line.

8. Cardinal Willem Eijk – GOOD
He’s tough on the moral issues, speaks plain truth in a world that hates it, and doesn’t play games with Church teaching. No fluff. Just solid.

9. Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo – MIXED
Good on resisting the LGBT agenda, but leans too political and activist-heavy. Could go either way.

10. Cardinal Peter Turkson – BAD
Globalist energy. Big on climate change and wealth redistribution. Not a defender of tradition—more of a “Vatican insider” type.

11. Cardinal Pietro Parolin – VERY BAD
Deep State Vatican. Helped sell out Catholics to China. Globalist to the core. This guy would be a disaster.

12. Cardinal Matteo Zuppi – DISASTER
Woke, progressive, and already trying to remake Church teaching. Basically Francis 2.0 with a faster, better-built motor. Hard no on this guy.

Edit.

Cardinal Robert Sarah is definitely based (outside of being RC and not Orthodox) and has some excellent quotes. Unfortunately for the trads, the next pope needs a 2/3 majority to be elected and over 80% of the other cardinals are hand-selected by Francis for their liberalism and loyalty to the globalist and ecumenist agendas. There's virtually zero chance they're going to select this guy with such a majority. Cardinal Sarah was selected for the cardinalate by Pope Benedict XVI, but over 80% of the current cardinal electors were selected by Francis.

One issue I see with Cardinal Sarah is that he might be a based Cardinal, but it's entirely possibly that he lacks the leadership and management skills necessary to deal with the factions inside the Vatican. Does his past experience show that he would be able to handle this? He'd be coming as an outsider, so it would be even harder than normal.

Are there any current insiders that are based?

As a Catholic, I think this assessment is spot on. The best thing about Catholics in Europe is that at least we don't act like invaders. But apart from that a lot of the things promoted by the higher ups essentially will lead to the destruction of Europe. Cardinal Sarah definitely seems to be saying stuff that resonates well with me and other conservatives, but I'm not sure if he would have the clout to actually change things.

In addition, when I to Orthodox leaders, like Porfirije, what that say seems more simple, relatable and less pretentious. I also like how they handle themselves around political figures. I enjoyed watching the meeting between him and Putin too.

I doubt any of the men mentioned in the public sphere will become Pope. But, whomever it is, I'm expecting a big leftwing ideologue.

I think the new poop will be some random from WEF stooge stock that no one ever heard of. Either way, that is not Jesus's boat, it's a Titanic and it will sink.

Lacking broader contact, a land border, the English speaking world didn't adopt the term pop - Поп, to precisely identify a Russian Orthodox priest, too bad, and it's only one letter away from poop. And since the word already has a meaning in English, maybe 'pooper' could do. The Russian church is crawling with poop.

First and foremost, a Church is its people- the faithful. Polish minorities' political sympathies 10 years after the Tsar was shot:

You can sperg as much as you like, I don't care. The Poop is a heretic, a schismatic and a leader of a sect. His actions make him The Poop.

I know the sentiment here regarding the Pope. Whatever. You wouldn't've used that word if it wasn't close. I detest it when sewer bound terminology creeps into everyday language. Anyway, keep the schism going.

As to actions, I'll repeat myself, a Church is all of her people, and that table above shows why I've never been impressed with the Orthodox at all. It's a screenshot from a deceitful wiki article about the term jew-commune, but that data is true. Today it's even worse, before the influx of Ukrainian refugees (they may be made citizens, who knows), there were a few isolated Orthodox communities remaining in Poland, and their voting patterns mirror American blacks- 90% consistently support the former communists- the left which progressively champions abortion and deviancies, while the general population gave that party a maximum of around 48% (sad to see) only one time. Where are their priests or 'pops' to tell them- wait a minute my beloved parishioners, what is this all about? They're the poops not pops, that's why, it's all poop top to bottom.

When I read 'ask your priest' here, I can't help but hear 'ask your pop Vanya' as my mind processes it. I will say more when I respond in the Catholic Church debate thread, which I wanted to do since February and created the account solely for that reason, then I can go back to checking raw news in the 'newest comments' section on the right side of the page, without commenting.

Anyway, when it comes to epic changes, it matters more who follows, rather than who leads- soldiers under heavy fire will never respect and loyally follow a bad commander with no charisma, no matter his rank, if they don't like him they'll stay true to themselves, their apathy and reluctance will doom his efforts. The disciples who didn't desert Jesus went on to spread the Gospel. St. Peter spoke for everybody when he answered they had nowhere else to go, since the Lord had the words of everlasting life. I also don't really believe in brainwashing, people are what they are, and show their true colors when the circumstances allow it. The bad ones can behave properly and adjust to the environment, but they're not really themselves. I want a world when I can see who people really are- what they like, and believe in. The Orthodox have given much love to Jewish communism, they've followed their lead in huge numbers.

that table above shows why I've never been impressed with the Orthodox at all.

By 1928 all of the Orthodox who resisted Communism had been slaughtered, the majority of the ones left were the ones who supported Communism.

Those numbers are for the minorities who lived in pre-war Poland. While 66% of the Eastern Orthodox didn't support communism, that 44% is still an astonishing number. Like I said, ten long years after the Imperial family's murder, they should have known better what that red tide was about.
