Latest Canadian Lunacy

I'll make you a deal: I won't say peep about anything to do with Australia if you agree to stay off of this Canadian thread (If you're not Canadian).
Another straw man. I do not care if you are in the Australian thread or not. The issue was your level of factuality and manner. The forum is full of people commenting on matters outside their own countries, due to both academic or personal family interest and also the fact problems in one affect the other and/or are shared.

You are free to look at all I’ve written here, about Harper being the best Canada could have (being lucky even with him), about how the voting demographics of Canada have always portended badly etc.

The other difference between you and I is I’ve made no mention of your nationality nor ancestry. I addressed your bad argument/false information and the sanctimonious manner in which you conducted yourself.

The German thread has many non-Germans (I’m ethnically German but I’d still be there regardless), the British thread has non-Britons, and the Trump and US threads have everyone.

You did not “merely misinterpret” what you read online about the Australian Senate and especially House results - you also made zero attempt to read what I said (two out of three elections, not a 100% win rate).

You were arguing in bad, uninformed faith and had the arrogance to think you had me in a gotcha moment.

Now you try and make some “deal” for me to stay out of the Canada thread while saying you’ll pray for me? Spare me.

We can just plod along in here on our own separate paths, as I’ve no interest in engaging further with you.

The province of Alberta Canada, while they say they have no imminent plans to leave the country currently, acknowledge that they want to have a vote in the future for independence from Canada.

“ While she said her government would not be putting forward a vote on separating from Canada, she acknowledged the likelihood of that happening in the future.

Article content
She has repeatedly said her government doesn’t support the initiative. However, her government recently tabled Bill 54, which halves the signature threshold for the referendum to appear as a ballot question to 10 per cent of those who voted in the previous election, while extending the timeline to get those signatures to 120 days from 90. The bill is currently awaiting second reading.”

I am an American, and unfamiliar with Canadian law and so forth. Maybe some of the Canadian members of this forum could chime in and say whether or not this is realistic? Really what is the future of Alberta? Could they simply vote their way out of the country of Canada and gained independence? Would they try to join the United States? Would they even want that? I’d love to hear from some Canadians and specifically from someone living in Alberta Canada.

Edit apparently it would take more than a voting referendum

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet, but yesterday a (White) woman in her 80's was stabbed to death in her front yard in Pickering, Ontario. Local police caught a 14-yo boy and have charged him with 1st Degree Murder. Under Canada's Youth Criminal Justice Act, the boy can't be named. I was watching some YT channels earlier today and according to some comments, there was video footage of him in the neighborhood and apparently he was named on social media...some brown Dune-Coon name. I have no idea if that's true or not... Regardless, all of the footage released to the public has his face blurred out.

Usually young offenders get a slap on the wrist, but if he's over 14, for Murder 1, he can be sentenced as an adult for life with no parole for 25 years. Let's see how much balls the Ontario court system has...

"He is a local, a resident of Pickering"

Having the Asian girl say it makes it even more macabre.

Yeah, I'd like to invoke the Coulter Principle here, but due Canadian law, we will never know his 'identity.'

Do they have similar laws regarding underage criminals in Oz?

Because of course this is Canadian:

The documentary follows Connel Bradwell, a wildlife biologist who describes himself as “very gay,” who claims that while he was studying orcas, he observed same-sex behaviour between two males.

Bradwell joins Jaylen Bastos, an urban ecologist and a drag queen who goes by the name of Batty Banks. Bastos goes on to explain that certain kinds of mushrooms have been discovered to have tens of thousands of genders, making them “incredibly queer.”

Canada is only 50% on punishing cannibals who literally ate people to death in the past 20 years (the Chinese cannibal on the bus, now free after a few years in the puzzle factory, and the gay porn star cannibal, who ate a Chinese student, now serving a life sentence), while they're 100% on cracking down on people who donated money to truckers protesting draconian covid restrictions.

I think they'll find a way to grant leniency to this kid.
