Bergen man's swastika-adorned car prompts outrage, calls for investigation

Police in the Bergen County town of Closter said they were investigating, and a New York lawmaker moved to revoke the owner's EMT plates.

New Jersey law enforcement agencies are investigating a Closter man after a photo of his car, adorned with a swastika decal and the URL of his anti-Jewish writings, circulated on social media.

In an Aug. 3 blog post tinged with antisemitic rhetoric and conspiracy theories, Closer resident John Kanjiram identified himself as the car's owner. Among the claims in his writings is his assertion that the swastika — the emblem of the Nazi regime that killed 6 million Jews in World War II — was "a symbol of peace."

One thing is certain, we can safely eliminate the regular posters in the Destruction of Modern Women thread as the culprit:

A woman who answered the phone at Kanjiram's home on Thursday, Aug. 7, and identified herself as his wife said Kanjiram wasn't available to comment. She declined to comment as well.

Putting a swastika on your car merits an investigation (harassment) by law enforcement and having a state legislator try and get your license plates revoked. Hmmm.
