It’s a very ignorant and armchair thing to say. Anybody who has visited Iran or knows Iranians from the Diaspora knows that almost everybody in Iran hates the government. I would say in Iran 95% plus of people hate the government. Ludicrous to compare the Ayatollah to Trump. Iran is more like Cuba or Venezuela. Countries were the government has almost zero support from locals. Go and talk to Iranians in real life and come back and let us know if you have met even a single one that supports the Iranian government.
Now among the 95% of Iranians that hate the government there are two main factions.
There are the faction that want the government removed by any means (many of these are the diaspora Iranians) and there are others who don’t want the government removed if it involves replacing them with American/Jew puppets or if it involves a war which devastates the country.
You might be right. The percent might be as high as 95%. The biggest complaint I would have with the Iranian regime, from the outside, is it seems they have a severe lack of being able to explain why the USA is so evil. They seem to just call them evil, and satanic, because of the economic sanctions and their support for Israel. Which that alone might seem to be good enough to the govt., but for the average person, they are probably thinking "yea, I don't like Israel, but I am struggling to put food on the table and survive over here".
Their govt. needs to reach out what frustrated Americans are saying. And not libtards complaining about ICE agents, but instead the conservatives who are right now trying to organize a tax strike due to anger towards the govt. If people in Iran realized their choice was the life they have now, with economic uncertainty, or one of the west, I think many would choose the life they have now. Their people likely think they can have the best of both worlds, where they can have fun and freedom of the west, but without third world immigration and sinful ways pushed on their children. The reality is, you cannot compromise with the devil, you will get BLM destroying your ancient sites, you will get your women destroying families, your children will be taught that homosexuality is a source of pride and that transgenders are heros. And the sugar high from the economy will eventually crash down and you will end up poor again.
I think most of us here are aware of it, but the Iranian people likely are not, so your estimate might be accurate. I would then turn around and ask how many in the west would like to see their govt. replaced with a better one. Most on the right are absolutely done with our govt. We go above and beyond to get people on the right wing elected and they constantly fail us and make our lives worse. Meanwhile, those on the left can never be satisfied because they want unlimited resources and think like children. So, the estimate % in the west, who want their government replaced, might be about as high as we see in Iran.
All and all, this is in context of how many people on the ground would support the regime and the IRGC if the US were to invade, and it will possibly take an invasion to replace the regime. My guess is many would support their government, given this circumstance, if nothing from a source of pride for their country and people, and a source of revenge to kill the foreign invaders who killed their son/husband/cousin/older brother in a battle they see as unjust.
