Iran-Israeli Conflict Thread

No, he's just saying that Iranian missiles have been getting through Haifa, which has a lot of Israeli military and civilian infrastructure and is therefore a prime Iranian missile target.

Older Iranian missiles also getting through Tel Aviv:

It seems like it says they need to get out of town because the city's ground defenses have been destroyed.

Iran is threatening, something . Nukes? Some other weapon?

Are they expecting a ground attack from Hezbollah? I don't see any way that Iran could put troops on the ground anywhere in Israel. Up to now I've thought this war must be exclusively airplanes and missile, but this makes it sound as if they expect a ground attack.
The twitter space I am listening to says that the fact Iran has hit northern Israel so hard is likely due to clear the way for Hezbollah to come in, if the USA decides to join the war.

This is what happens when the King of B.S. meets the Ayatollah of B.S.
Iran and their people are very small talk and slow moving. So far, their promises have been kept, I suspect that they have something up their sleeve.

Now they are telling people around the Dimona Nuclear facility to get out of the area. If they are able to hit this area with a strong enough strike, the fall out of radiation could be very bad.

O

I obviously meant that sarcastic even though I shouldn't, or should I?
I'm not sure, I just can see Iran isn't f'ing around. Everything they have said, other than this big weapon, has come true. Israel have precise stirkes, but it appears it didn't do enough damage to slow Iran down. Lots of talk of them having fake targets to get Israel to waste their resources bombing nothing, and their real equipment is too deep for anyone to hit, Putin backed this up. We know now Iran has ICBM's, meaning the likely can hit as far as London, meaning 100's of thousands of US troops are in harms way. And when Trump said that Iran called him to beg for a deal, it really pissed off Iran and they adamantly said they never tried to call and have not changed their stance on the issue.

At the same time, Iran is hitting Israel now around the clock, day and night, with bigger and bigger weapons, one today was a missile that broke into 8 warheads and caused much larger and widespread damage.

Iran has been preparing for this war for over 30 years. They are a serious country that takes engineering and family creation serious. As Putin has said, they have no asked for help, specifically to prove they can do this on their own.

Seems like conflicting intelligence on the exact composition of Fordow is giving Trump pause...

White House Says Trump To Decide On Attacking Iran 'Within Next 2 Weeks'

Summary: The White House held a high stakes presser Thursday afternoon, as President Donald Trump also again convened his top national security officials in the situation room to hear intelligence officials and make key decisions on the Israel-Iran war, just prior. Of course, the biggest question that remains is: will the US directly enter the war against Iran?

  • White House quoting Trump: Amid speculation regarding negotiations with Iran, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next 2 weeks.
  • Leavitt: Trump thinks 'substantial chance' of Iran negotiations
  • Leavitt: Witkoff has been in touch with Iran
  • Leavitt: Trump always interested in diplomatic solutions
  • Leavitt: it's the US belief that Iran has never been closer to a nuclear weapon
  • Leavitt: Iran can and should make a deal or face consequences
  • Leavitt: Trump remains in contact with Netanyahu
  • Leavitt: Iran is in a weakened position and we have sent a deal
  • Leavitt: Iran has all that it needs to achieve a nuclear weapon, it just needs a 'decision'

The most pressing issues at stake:

  • Last ditch diplomacy working? Reuters reports in a breaking development that Iran held direct talks with US over de-escalation and potentially restarting nuclear negotiations.
  • The Guardian reports that Trump only wants to strike Iran only if the US can destroy the Fordow enrichment facility.
  • Destruction of Fordow would at least require the 30k pound bunker buster bomb, but still may not be effective in ending Iran's enrichment capacity.
  • Netanyahu says that while regime change in Tehran is not the current goal, the option is on the table.
  • Tactical nuke on the table?
  • Will the Iranians close the Strait of Hormuz, choking off global oil shipping?
  • Reports of US bases in the region taking protective and defensive measures
  • Israeli intelligence official says 'imminent collapse' of Iranian government is "far from the truth" - NBC reports
  • Iran is warning that a "third party intervention" would spark an immediate military response
  • Netanyahu has said the US has been "helping a lot" - without defining specifics

If this were a matter of hitting more or less one major site and destroying/critically-crippling Iran's nuclear program, this would've been done already. But drawing the US into an unpopular conflict with a pissed-off Iran AND them still having nuclear assets? Not worth it.

Also, the more time that passes, the more general public's interest in seeing a US-led strike happens wanes. More and more questions will be asked and more Tucker/Cruz moments will enter the American consciousness.
