IQ Research

Perhaps this is why German novels (albeit in translation) are usually disappointing. Their language is too mechanical. On the other hand, the English, the French, the Russians, they can WRITE.

Also this is a great argument in favor of learning multiple languages. It broadens your mindset and forces you to think differently. I think Americans struggle with mental adaptation in different conditions compared to Europeans because we are mostly monolingual.

All three of the mathematicians I know gleefully took the jab to keep their jobs. Not very "smart"...

Yes, there is something called "The Intelligence Trap" where some highly intelligent people can actually be poor thinkers. Basically, without going into TLDR territory, they are smart in certain domains but have zero street smarts making them very dumb in some situations. For example, being "smart" in a lab can get you killed in the ghetto or in a wilderness survival situation. And being "smart" is of no use if you're dead due to stupidity.
That's true, I wrote intelligence =/= wisdom. I consider STEM people intelligent, unlike all those humanities types, including lawyers, sure they can be shrewd and cunning, in general all the lawyers in the world working together until their dying hours couldn't solve the engineering problems that make civilization work.

The Intelligence Trap

Math people want to solve problems in the best and most efficient manner, they often can't comprehend why someone like a lawyer/politician would- like a low IQ thief- consider the best solution as that which personally benefits them the most, and to hell with the broader 'system'- the DOGE team vs. the lifelong bureaucrats. Tesla was one of the most intelligent men ever, humanity owes him big, but died poor, while all the smart ass Jew shopkeepers were rolling in money. Life is a school, but it won't increase your intelligence and math problem solving capabilities. Intelligent soc/psychos are almost always street-smart and learn the game quick.
