Interesting article/interview with Morrissey

Morrissey it seems to me is one of the only musical artists that has enough integrity to speak his mind and put his career in an uncomfortable position. When I hear Morrissey speak I learn something new. He offers a unique perspective in the culture war. I imagine some of the folks on this forum would reel at hearing Morrissey mentioned, but I don't like the gun totting, F-150 driving, machoism that can pervade in some right circles. I think it's important we have people like Morrissey.

Anyway Morrissey had a recent print interview that I thought was worth sharing here. Morrissey had an album completed and in the hands of Universal several years back but they refused to release it commercially or back to Morrissey. The head of Universal David Joseph's early life check is no surprise. He was picked on by skinheads when he was a boy *fights back tears*.

Hold up seems because Morrissey wasn't thrilled about the Manchester Arena bombing a few years back. The unreleased album is called Bonfire of Teenagers.
Controversial means intelligent, doesn’t it? We are still in the grip of Idiot Culture, it’s everywhere you look. Naturally I’m one of the first to be gagged since my entire life has relied on free speech,” he tells me. “No, I wouldn’t remove the title song because I wouldn’t abandon the murdered kids of Manchester. Their spirits cry out every single day for remembrance and recognition.” Nor, he writes, would he consider self-releasing the album.

I'm a big fan of Morrissey, but there are a few older rockers/punks that are way right of center, and should be given a voice too.

Morrissey is probably bisexual and has a big liberal gay following. However, he was also at one point a champion of celebacy and claimed to be celebate himself which is a good message to send out to his followers. He is high IQ and for an "artist" has done well for himself and put out some good work (especially with The Smiths). I would like to see him and Roger Waters do a limited podcast series that specifically addresses the JQ and its powerful, thieving role of usury within the music industry.

I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

With lyrics this succint you know he can't be all bad. Omg a proud Heritage Brit. Stop the Presses!

Morrisey's on record for saying England for the English or something like that. He thinks the left are loonies and stated, "We are all callled racist now and the word is actually meaningless."

In another interview, he rips on the word, diversity.
