Morrissey it seems to me is one of the only musical artists that has enough integrity to speak his mind and put his career in an uncomfortable position. When I hear Morrissey speak I learn something new. He offers a unique perspective in the culture war. I imagine some of the folks on this forum would reel at hearing Morrissey mentioned, but I don't like the gun totting, F-150 driving, machoism that can pervade in some right circles. I think it's important we have people like Morrissey.
Anyway Morrissey had a recent print interview that I thought was worth sharing here. Morrissey had an album completed and in the hands of Universal several years back but they refused to release it commercially or back to Morrissey. The head of Universal David Joseph's early life check is no surprise. He was picked on by skinheads when he was a boy *fights back tears*.
Hold up seems because Morrissey wasn't thrilled about the Manchester Arena bombing a few years back. The unreleased album is called Bonfire of Teenagers.

Naturally I’m one of the first to be gagged since my entire life has relied on free speech,” he tells me. “No, I wouldn’t remove the title song because I wouldn’t abandon the murdered kids of Manchester. Their spirits cry out every single day for remembrance and recognition.” Nor, he writes, would he consider self-releasing the album.
