The dissenter, dissatisfied with the status quo, recognizes that the government tampers with the economy extensively but takes a sanguine attitude towards more government tampering with the economy.

By the way, the fact that the internet started as a communication network among military, corporate and academic entities does not mean that the internet as we know it came from central planning. Outside its limited initial purpose it emerged incrementally from commercial and then home user demand.

The internet was started by the government, which implies centralization. On the other hand, the whole IP address protocol is designed to be decentralized.

I remember during the Desert Storm War in 1991 I heard that the Iraqi military was using the same decentralized networking protocol as the US military, and so their various units across the country were able to maintain communications in spite of the US bombing campaign and the hits on various headquarters buildings.

I didn't know about the internet at the time, but in hindsight it's obvious that's what they were using. That kind of robust decentralized networking was a key design goal when the internet was created.
