Good Animation Thread

Anime is better than most garbage that Hollywood puts out these days. Here's a few different shows that are good for those new to the medium:

Death Note

Classic anime about a man who finds a mysterious notebook which allows him to kill anyone who's name is written in it and he uses it to pass judgement on criminals. Great supernatural thriller.

Solo Leveling

Shonen (aimed at young men), same genre as cultural icons like Dragonball Z and Naruto. Much shorter in length, great combat scenes, has a determined protagonist who slowly grows into a stoic, protective man after gaining a special ability through a heroic sacrifice. Only 2 seasons released out of likely 4 so far though.

NieR:Automata Ver1.1a

Fantastic adaptation of a beloved videogame, this hits all the story beats and conveys the game's astounding scale, combat, music and message very well. It's focused on humanity's last hope for survival: androids they built in order to combat the machine lifeforms deployed by aliens to conquer Earth.

FAQ:
Subbed or dubbed?
Whatever is your preference. I usually watch subbed because the voice acting and direction is rarely as good as the original Japanese, but if I'm eating I'll swap to dubbed so I don't miss anything.

How to watch?
If you don't mind pirate streams then Stremio or Gogoanime, otherwise I hear Crunchyroll is the biggest platform.
