Donald Trump

I am extremely glad that Trump has backed down on war with Iran.

Who says he has backed down? He has delayed it for the time being, yes. But "backed down"? Hardly.

Remember when there was a short ceasefire in Gaza (so that Israel could be resupplied by the US)? People were saying the same things about Trump not being a zionist shill and not taking orders from Netanyahu back then. In reality it was Israel who wanted the ceasefire, and as soon as they were stocked up they started bombing again, with full support from Trump.

War with Iran will likely start as soon as the US has freed up assets that are tied up in Ukraine.

Situation in Gaza is far different and Trump's hands are tied, because half of the Arab leadership does not support Hamas or the Palestinian people. The Sauds and UAE both support Israel, which makes it virtually impossible to support Hamas for any length of time.

Conversely no one in the Arab world wants war with Iran, making it far easier to put pressure on Israel to back down against Iran.

Ultimately foreign diplomacy is 100% political and so who is supporting who matters a lot.

DJT on Chinese pollution, LET THE MAN COOK! A breath of fresh air from all the cringe CCP propaganda that's been flooding the internet from every angle possible, with a quite noticeable increase since T's inauguration. Chinese (and third world in general) pollution is a massive problem, they have zero care about the environment and literally turn scenic areas into carcinogenic trashcovered landfills within a week - and if really unlucky it includes open defecation. The only reason why Chinese T1 cities look neat is due to a small army of public cleaners sweeping the streets starting at around 4:00.

Study published in 2021 in Science.org contradicts the Wall Street Journal article above:

Confucius must be rolling in his grave. The Chinese are a nation of first world intelligence, but after Mao's "cultural revolution" have adopted an attitude of third world boorishness. The lowest common denominator is officially endorsed in China.

Unless they get their people in check they will never have a prosperous society like the West (used to be). They are basically peasants that can solve differential equations and that makes them dangerous.

It's communist standard practice to kill off all intelligent and independent minded people when they take power.
It then takes several generations for intelligence and self sufficiency to re-emerge in the population.

That's incredibly dumb though, as the pollution is a result of the production of goods for mostly western countries, the US being until recently no. 1 on that list. It's true that it's a massive problem, but one that us western consumers have been happy to ignore!

As I've pointed out earlier, there is no viable alternative at this time. We don't have robotics at such a level that shoe and textile production etc. could outcompete Asian++ low-wage workers. Pretty far from it it seems. So there will be higher prices, and voters won't like that. Would be great it people starting sowing and repairing clothes and so on, but more likely there will eventually be a move back to free trade...
