It's a success Trump has become president, if only because Ross Ulbricht, an intelligent and peaceful man, was freed. No other serious Republican contender, not to mention a Democrat, would have bothered to look at his case. Many innocent people would die in prison, and Trump was their only hope, no other person who stood a chance of winning, whoever has failed to help make this happen cannot look any of them in the eyes.
I had hoped he would do it before leaving in 2020, instead he pardoned some I assume real (but possibly also sentenced on bogus, unconstitutional weapons charges) black criminals, rappers who sang about killing Whites, who mocked Trump himself. I think he wasn't aware of Ross' situation. The scotus appointments, while not ideal, also provided relief, it would have been game over now, that's undeniable. Wait and see when this changes.
