Ever since I converted to Catholicism in 2012, I have never truly grasped the communion of saints. Recently though, based on advice from a confessor, I was recommended to read into the life of St. Rita of Cascia, the patron saint of marriage and impossible causes. I found her so inspiring that I honestly ask for her intercession in prayer, and I feel that its giving me a sort of peace. I have faith in her ability to intercede for me and it comforts me.
I recently ordered a new rosary and it turned out to be a benedictine rosary, with a benedictine medal and when I looked up St Benedict I found myself marveling at the man and the graces that come with faithfully praying the rosary with his medal. The "Ora et Labora" theme really harmonizes with my life, and the protection from spiritual warfare is something I needed right now. I had the rosary blessed yesterday and prayed my first 5 decades on it and woke up feeling physically well, and spiritually peaceful.
Who is your favorite saint? Why? What graces do you ask for?
"May the Holy Cross be my light;
Let not the dragon be my guide"
