Clown World Thread

From Variety.com:

"Something wicked this way comes on the packaging of Mattel‘s “Wicked” dolls.

There’s a website listed on the toy box, but instead of linking to the webpage for the movie adaptation of the Tony-winning musical, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, Mattel has mistakenly listed the URL to a pornographic website."

Full article:

I didn't know anything about the movie adaptation...I'm genuinely surprised that they got away with casting a Negress (Cynthia Erivo) as the Wicked Witch of the West...

They are probably trying to present the Wicked Witch of the West as an appealing character, like what they did in Maleficent.

Holy cow, 2 weeks ago I sat next to a young Mechanical Engineer student doing diffie Qs. I didn't interrupt him until we were deplaning. Gave him a little buck up/attaboy for the struggle. Poor kid needed a smile, that stuff is so hard.

I guess we're getting close to finals.
Diffy Q was awesome. I felt like I was firing on all cylinders when I took that class. I got an A.

The semester before, a guy from my circuits class told me that the secret to diffy q was that it's all just algebra tricks. I saw instantly that this was true.

When I took the class the next semester, I watched when the professor worked out problems on the board during each lecture, and noted the algebra tricks he used. I practiced those algebra tricks on the homework problems, and was able to kill it on the tests.

If only all of life was so easy!

My friends and I would do things like this all time, alone or together. Walking or on bikes. I would take the train into the city by myself as well. One time I flew alone.

This is just more police state bs, and trying to make kids even softer.

The haka is hard to watch without cringing.
The haka has jumped the shark. There was a point when it was kind of cool that they had this authentic relic from the time when they were cannibal savages, and were using it to hold onto their cultural identity.

It was even cool the first time they did it in Parliament, to celebrate some milestone of participation, I forget what.

However, they went to that well too many times. This most recent episode in Parliament is being ridiculed around the world. Now these wannabe cannibals just look like idiots in front of all of humanity. Oops!

I bet we'll see less of this now. At worst, they'll be slow to realize how cringe it has become, but it will sink in pretty soon, and they'll knock it off for the most part.
