It's sad because the menorah is an Old Testament tradition that the Jews have perverted.
I thought this was a pretty good meme, but I wonder how true it is. Do Spanish and Portuguese colonies really have more positive attitudes to their colonizers?

No, it's fairly common for people here to hate Spaniards and talk about how "they stole our gold" and "muh reparations" and things like that. Which is ridiculous. I, for one, thank them for Christianity.
