Haha love it thanks for making me laugh, that's not even her geared up I stripped everything off to ship it.
Kias are notorious for valve tapping and head gaskets leaking diesel or not. Particularly 2011-2017. Your in the sweet spot but just be aware of such issues because they are still known to fail in that year. It's why Kia is about the only brand to come baseline 100000 miles warranty for their engines.
Not saying they are not good vehicles but I worked for them for about 3 months and all I did was engine swaps. I moved on after doing about 30 swaps in that time.
One of my personal favorite vehicles to work on is the 2nd gen RDX (2012-2018). They are modernity priced and have the ever reliable j series v6 with awd. Not many issues besides the torque converter failing but it's covered under warranty basically for life by dealer. Very comfortable riding vehicle good gas milage and many perks of a luxury brand vehicle.
I was just going to say the same thing to him, Kia and Hyundai are known for catastrophic engine failures. @SkiPro If the car doesn't mean anything to you I would get out of it while it's still well functioning, an older Toyota truck will give you that same utilitarian feel and will be trouble free as long as you halfway maintain it.
When great effort is put into a labor of love then there is no reason to feel dumb for having emotion seeing it go.

My wife use to drive a 2018 jeep cherokee when we met. Apparently they have "lifetime" transmission fluid. When I hear hog wash like that i knew it was time to get rid of it asap. Was able to trade it in and pay about 1k more for a 2015 honda odyssey for my growing family. A vehicle I can work on and fix in my sleep.
Again as much of a car guy i am I also know they are tools for transportation and should be treated as such. There is another side to thay coin as well. You treat your tools right and they will last you a lifetime of their service.
Just like 10k mile oil changes....silly.
I believe I said this before in car maintenance thread but I'll say it again. There is no oil I don't care if it's $100 a qt that lasts 10k miles. Especially if your vehicle is direct injection or a 4 cylinder. The oil is constantly heated and cooled and the longer it's not changed it can degrade and on top of this bad oil in your engine can cause it's properties to burn off causing your oil pan (bath) to have low oil causing your connecting rods not to dip into it and your oil pump having to work twice as hard to pull oil up to cool the crankshaft or other parts of the engine that is suppose to lubricate.
