Beauty

A rainy, foggy, snowy, or cloudy day. A starry night. Fall. Winter time at night, the way light reflects off snow and brightens up the night. Driving through a highway with lots of trees and rocks. City lights, especially when looking down on them from a plane.

A couple of weekends ago, I drove out to a cabin a few hours away to stay the night. On my way there, I passed through many fields of trees and mountains. I'd almost forgotten how beautiful it is. When I was a kid, long car drives like that bored to me to tears. It's hard to understand but as you get older you can't help but appreciate the beauty of it all.

God is very good and deserves to be praised for His creativity.

Last year I went out on a whale watching expedition. It was a bit of a last minute thing as I’m not normally into that type of thing. I was mesmerised by the beauty of these magnificent creatures. Especially with the mother teaching her calf to dive down and then return to the surface for air.

There is already an older thread on this topic. Perhaps they can be merged?

So many things. My wife and children and our life together comes to mind first, but so many other things. Vox Day recently posted about the phrase "bonum pulchrum verumque" which means "the good, the beautiful, and the true." It describes how Medieval Christians saw virtue, beauty, and truth as intimately connected to each other. I've thought a lot about that since, how I basically arrived at the same conclusion myself years ago when I became "red pilled" although I'd never heard it put exactly that way before.

Meanwhile out in Clownworld they insist that ugliness is beauty and evil is virtue. Still, I feel content and serene because I'm in touch with Truth and truth is good and beautiful. Anyone can do this, but for some reason few do and normies choose to live in a state where all opinions that might approach truth and all solutions that might actually improve things are forbidden. Come to think of it, I suppose that the overwhelming unhappiness and discontent in what's called the developed world or the West really boils down to a general misunderstanding of the nature of beauty.

I like the ugly truth, or the hard truth. I find that lies are often dressed up to appear more beautiful than the truth.
