Hollywood Is Run Like A Satanic Cult

As someone who could be described as a Kubrick scholar in previous years, I think there's a decent chance he was growing a conscience near the end with EWS. Too little too late though, he knew was was going on in Hollywood, there's a reason why he moved to the English countryside right after hitting it big circa Lolita. Not to mention the moon landing and the atheist transhumanist agenda he pushed consistently. Ironically I used to love his films for their themes but now imo his best film has pretty much no deep themes other than being a quirky period piece (Barry Lyndon). FMJ has some decent anti-war material I suppose.

This point is actually heavily disputed, there were diametrically opposed testimonies at the time of his death that Kubrick either was finished and happy with the film, or that he was still wrestling with how to finish and publish the film as he envisaged it. I find the latter more credible, while I share your skepticism about 40 minutes and all that I'd bet dollars to donuts there were significant edits done other than covering up some nudity, most likely material leaning more heavily into the sacrifice ritual angle. The film was released as R fwiw not PG-13. It's all a bit academic but a very interesting rabbit hole. Say what you will, the propagandists used to be talented!

Why would Kubrick, the guy who popularized diddling 11 year olds when he made Lolita in 1962, suddenly grow a conscience late in life when he had all the worldly wealth and fame imaginable? Because the old Jew suddenly found God? I don't see that fat camel squeezing through such a narrow needle.

He was a high level mason who thought himself a cosmic do-gooder, endowed by Prometheus (Satan) to help mankind appreciate technology from "the gods" and live a little, but with less war (Paths of Glory & FMJ) and more fornicating.

In EWS, Kubrick is the rich guy, the Victor Zeigler character, who scarcely knows how to tell Dr. Bill how stupid he is for getting disillusioned and that he's going to get himself hurt. Kubrick/Zeigler likes us goys and wants to save us from our prudish, naive selves through his fascinating onscreen indoctrination, so that we don't get aids from hookers or die of overdoses during orgies.

Kubrick/Zeigler is telling us that it's better to be honest about our urges and bonk our spouses on the regular even if, while they're in bed with us, they're actually thinking about hookups with rando Naval officers in hotel lobbies.

EWS was Kubrick showing off and putting it in our faces, telling us foolish goy how to live right and sell our 14 y.o. daughters to Japanese business men.
